Re: Looking for feedback for children's song listing
A Wide Range of CHILDREN'S SONGS with Male or Female Vocals are needed for a proactive TAXI COMPILATION going directly to a long list of Music Publishers, Music Licensing Companies, Music Supervisors, Ad Agencies, and of course, Children's Record Labels.
We're searching for Songs in All Tempos in the general wheelhouse of (but not limited to) the following references:
"Let's Go!" by The Laurie Berkner Band
"Hokey Pokey" by The Wiggles (from 1:18 - 4:57)
"Baby Shark" by Pinkfong
"Wiggle" by Lisa Loeb
"Wheels on the Bus" by Cocomelon
Please send well-produced Children's Songs with sing-along melodies, simple, well-crafted lyrics, inviting rhythms, and plenty of upbeat energy. Your arrangements and instrumentation can vary from the organic, acoustic side to more filled-out production ideas – just be sure they still stylistically align with the references and other top Children's music songs. Your Songs should have engaging, well-performed vocals (adult and/or children) and polished production. If you plan on using any virtual instruments or samples, please be sure they are high-quality and not dated. Please don't submit demos for this. We need finished Songs.
Our A&R team will have a simple mandate: Is it GREAT? Does it sound ready to go as it is? Would it work well for placements in Film, TV, and Advertising? Is this pitch-able to Publishers and/or Labels? Would TAXI's clients be happy to hear this on the playlist we send them? The bar will be very high for this request.
Note: TAXI has been quite successful in helping our members sign deals via the playlists on previous compilations. Our industry clients like the proactive approach
This playlist will be sent to dozens of TAXI's best clients, as well as some companies we'd like to have as new clients!
Your Lyrics should be geared toward children and younger audiences, so simpler lyrics are probably the best way to go, and please, NO PROFANITY. Avoiding specific names, places, dates, times, and brands is recommended as it could increase the chances of your Songs getting signed and ultimately landing sync placements, but that's not absolutely required. Do NOT copy the referenced examples in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a general guide for tempo, tone, and overall vibe. Broadcast Quality is needed.
Because the selected Songs will be going directly to many different Companies, deal terms may vary. However, since some of the Companies are EXCLUSIVE Libraries, we ask that the Songs you pitch for this request are NOT already signed with other Companies or Catalogs. That includes any publishing or publishing administration deals with online distributors like CDBaby, TuneCore, etc. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit. Please submit as many Songs as you’d like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Thursday, July 21st, 2022. TAXI # S220721CD

Re: Looking for feedback for children's song listing
Hey Eric
I had to look up the listing so I posted it ^^^
I don't think your song is a fit for this listing. It's very far off from the references. The country style isn't best. The lyrics are way too complex other than the A B C part. This is a VERY high bar listing and you would need something that's incredibly good in this children's realm like the reference tracks.
Best,
Casey

Hi. I don't like the idea of a kid saying "Maybe if I read a little more". I mean, what's stopping him? He's kind of admitting that he wastes time and should be reading more, but if he knows this, why isn't he?

Excellent points. I guess the Loeb song is probably the most lyrically complex, but for the most part, they're all very simple lyrics.
