Lush - New Orchestra Piece

Post by fusilierb » Wed Apr 15, 2009 11:21 am

Hi all, me again...This is one that I posted a while back in its butchered condition. It was the wrestling of this one that made me realize I was having some computer problems. Finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Any comments on how the balance is working? Is the loud part at the end too loud?Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated,BLushhttp://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_id=2287 ... anfusilier

Hey Bryan,I didn't hear the original.Starts out very quiet, which is fine...everything sounds good...String part at :33 sounds a bit abrupt and dry...Piece builds nicely...The thing that sticks out to me is I would like to hear more reverb, especially on that string part. The whole piece sounds a bit dry and close to me...unless that is the objective.Nice work.

I found that when the strings get louder at the 1:03 mark...something about the articulations of the high strings could be smoothen out... hmmm, little more reverb might help...Nice composition.-Kel

Hey RLD, Definitely not the objective on this one. I've heard the reverb comment before on my string parts. I'm going to experiment with that. Thanks for listening,BAnd do me a favor, keep cranking out those kick ass AC/DC tunes!

Kel,You are all over these boards and I love that. Thanks for listening and your right, the string just get harsh when I render them. They don't sound that way when they are playing as midi tracks. It's a mystery I have to solve. Thanks for the listen! And thanks for keeping those sick guitar mangles of yours coming.B
