I'm looking for lyric writers to collaborate with. Not just for Taxi listings but for general songwriting purposes. You need to be a prolific writer and able to write interesting, offbeat but universally appealing lyrics. The genre is mostly AAA, Pop/Rock, Singer-Songwriter. Well, thank you very much! I've had quite a good response to this post so we'll see what happens.

On a different note... has anyone ever had one of those days where you spend HOURS working on a song that refuses to be written only to give up on it and then have a totally new song (new melody, new chords, new words) pop out fully formed in about ten minutes?? Happened to me today. I feel so... blessed... when that happens. It really is like a gift from somewhere else.

Hi Mark,

There's nothing like replying to a 2 year old post, but here goes.

I've been a lyric writer since I was a kid. Like you, I grew up in England (I now live in Canada) and did the usual band thing (played guitar and wrote lyrics) when I was in my teens and twenties, but later turned to lyric writing more specifically. I've never tired of writing, always chasing the perfect lyric. I regularly collaborate with some great musicians, and it's still a thrill to hear my words come to life in a song.
