Mac Garageband Help Needed!!!!!
Ok, I am brand new to Taxi and to the forum. I need some help on a few things...How do I get sounds to come through Garageband? I need the step by step breakdown. I have the sounds downloaded. I just can't get get them to play through Garageband. How do I record your vocals to keep it from echoing? DO you guys go in the closet, with a lot of clothes hanging up around you to keep your vocals from echoing? Do you have any inexpensive ways that are quick as far as setting up to sing your vocals? How do I get the music to play back while recording vocals simultaneously?

Also, use headphones when your listening back to the first track and recording with the built in mic. (I'm assuming your doing that as you mentioned the "echo")your mac will automatically change the output of garageband to headphones once you plug it in, assuming you are on a mac

to hear yourself as you're recording make sure the "monitor" button on the bottom right side of instrument selection is clicked to "on"

Re: Mac Garageband Help Needed!!!!!
When it comes to garage band, I know quite a bit about the program... so if you're stumblin', just send a PM. There are lots of really cool things you can do with it, as Michael said in one of his emails, and I use it to make tunes quick and easy. Great for 1st drafts, for sure!As far as mic setup goes... quality in is quality out... and expense is part of the game... always is! And there are so many variables that go with this question, it's impossible to answer.... best idea is to go to Guitar Center or another pro-gear place and ask 'em. Good luck!
