Quote:When I've had stuff forwarded for listings, I've usually no idea what company it's for. It's usually vague like "big Library Music Company"....where did you get the names from? They're part of the notification email or if you get notifications via postcard, they're on there. It says specifically which songs were forwarded, the name of the company they were forwarded to, and the listing# for which they were forwarded. Some might sound generic or be hard to find because they don't have a big internet presence or maybe none at all. I have one here called "Northstar Media" where their name is too vague to pull up anything other than an article from IndianTelevision.com about a new television program distribution company. I'm guessing that's them but there's no way to know. Anything you've gotten on your forwards is their name, not just a generic description.

Great inside info Casey. Although we hear it repeatedly, it's not always easy to envision a publisher's perspective. Thanks bud!

I've been deleting all my forward notification emails as I thought they were just notifications and had no real use beyond that. Stupidly I never even realised the company name was mentioned (I've got a bit of a distraction problem when I read emails...I scan them only).Does anyone think Taxi would tell me what companies I was forwarded to in the past.Duh!

LOL.... It can't hurt to ask... PS I am a pack rat... I have every cover letter, every response (non-taxi), every forward, non-forward email from taxi, going back to 2000... Gotta go, need to wash my hands again... It's only been 6 times this morning... LOL Casey

I don't use Broadjam anymore so I can't be specific, but somewhere on your Broadjam page (after you log in) is a list of all of your submissions and the results (return or forward). The forwards have links (or something to this effect) where you can see the forwarding info and the critique if there was one. The company name will be part of the forwarding info.

Yeah, when you go to the Taxi listings page, there's a button in the upper left - Previous Submissions

Hi 53,Dave is right but only if you are a member of Dispatch. Sign in to your Broadjam account. Go to the 'TAXI listings' page on the site. Click on 'Previous submissions'. Every submission you've made via Broadjam will be listed there along with its return/forward/pending status and beside that it says 'read'. Click on 'read' beside the song submission you want to know about and it'll take you to a page with the screener's feedback and info on the Listing Company if you were forwarded. Now here's the catch. On the Broadjam 'read' page they don't name the Listing Company for every forward. Only forwards for Dispatch listings! Forwarded Y listings never name the company and forwarded S listings only rarely. I've brought this inconsistency to TAXI's attention a couple of times and they've done sweet FA about it. Pisses me off! Anyway, hope this is of some use to you.

Hi Dave,I've been using the broadjam submission system for over a year now and I've never read the information on what company I've been forwarded to in the online crit. Perhaps as Mani said it's only on the Dispatch listings, which I'm not signed up to.If I'm forcusing on sending submissions to library music companies would you recommend Dispatch?

I'm pretty sure you can sign up to have the dispatch email listings sent to you so you can judge for yourself whether it's worth your while upgrading or not.

That's right Mani. I started getting the dispatch listings. If you see anything that looks good, you can sign up. Otherwise they make interesting reading anyway.
