Marching down the field?
EPIC/DRAMATIC ORCHESTRAL INSTRUMENTALS (no vocals) a la NFL Films productions are sought by the Music Supervisor of a major cable TV sports network. Tracks that "move" with energy are important -- think marching down a football field, for example. Marching band-type tracks will work, as will tracks that incorporate brass/wind instruments, but all orchestral instrumentation is OKFinally finished this piece I've been slaving over for 3 days. I'm not so sure this is exactly right for sports although I've heard this kind of thing before over football highlights. Might be a bit too "light" for football?http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... m=trueThis uses EWQLSO and SAM Orchestral Brass (and a little bit of Stormdrum). I'm still wrapping my head around the SAM brass library.Enjoy,Mazz

imagine if John Williams and Trent Reznor met at Bernard Hermann's for lunch and Brian Eno was the head chef!

Hi Mazz - first of all, this is an great composition and the quality of the orchestra sounds is excellent. Great job!! Like you, I'm not sure if this is totally in keeping with this particular listing altho it certainly does have a flavour of it, especially around 45 secs. It almost sounds like it would fit that news/current affairs listing too. It reminds me of John Williams and Star Wars

OK huge football fan (Go Pats!!!) and it could work on the NFL films thingy (they do some more light hearted ones, follies and such), I can see a bunch of guys scrambling for the ball on a muddy field with this one, ball slipping out of the quarterbacks hand and such... Goodluck (and good job ) , Geo

Hey Mazz,I think this would definitely work. It's very upbeat and reminds me of College football.I'm not familiar with Stormdrum but I've heard about it. It seems real Pro to me. The snares really make it authentic sounding.Good luck,Amos

You guys just amaze me every time. This was another great track. The library sounds quite good. The music itself was lighter than I would've envisioned but the composition was terrific. I love the pauses between the pieces. It struck me as a dramatic transition without being awkward.Very nice. (but.. then again, I knew it was going to be)

Mazz,Great track as always. I'm not sure it's "epic" enough. I think of those big battle scenes in movies when I hear the word "epic". They seem bombastic and over the edge.By the way, I came across this software, I'm thinking it could be great for this kind of listing:http://www.tapspace.com/vdl2/index.htmlAny one already using this?Chuck

Re: Marching down the field?
Thanks everyone for the feedback. I've worked really hard on my composition chops and it seems it's starting to pay off. I did go more for the marching band music on this, there's another listing for battle scenes coming up but I may not have time to do it as the TV lady needs some new stuff pretty soon. The snares are from the orchestra library, Stormdrum is used for the big low end hits that you hear at the beginning and other places.Chuck, I've heard of that software but haven't checked it out. It probably is pretty cool for this type of thing.Cheers,Mazz
