Member Deals 5/1/2008 – 5/31/2008Robert C. (New York)- From a previous connection he made through TAXI two years ago with his song “Free,” Robert was recently informed that his song was featured on the May 16th season finale episode of America’s Funniest Home Videos. With all the options set to be picked up by the company, the licensing fees would total approximately $20,000. This airing would be noted as the single largest licensing fee this Music Publishing company has ever received for a TV placement! Here’s what Robert had to say: “I never would have made this connection without TAXI and I've also realized that patience is the name of the game! Patience and consistency.”Jonathan K. (California)- Jonathan was recently informed that Universal Music in Eastern Europe (starting in Poland) will be releasing his first Swing/Pop album in mid-June, and they are paying for his entire band to fly out and perform live, and on national television! Here’s what Jonny had to say: “It all started with a placement (through TAXI) of one of my songs, "Girl From Ipanema," on a Jazz compilation CD and they ended up liking my whole album so much they asked me if I'd be up for having it released...I couldn't exactly say no.”Jonathan K. (California)- As a result of his TAXI membership, Jonathan signed with a very successful Online Music Licensing Company which specializes in providing music for wedding photographers, wedding websites, and clients of the like who they license music out to. Here’s what Jonathan said: “Two of my self-penned songs (also from my album) ‘In Just That Kind of a Mood’ and ‘Ooh-Wee’ have been extremely popular with their clientele. My checks have more than doubled every quarter.”Harvey R. (Texas)- Hip-Hop artist and TAXI member Harvey recently signed his album “The Unexpected, They Made Me” to an Independent Music Distributor. It took six months to hear back from the company after the forward through TAXI, but it resulted in his CD getting exposure to 400+ markets online, and the possibility to be sold in stores such as Best Buy, Walmart, Kmart, Target, etc.Jeff L. (Maryland)- Jeff’s song “Prospects” has recently been placed in episode 105 of the NBC show Lipstick Jungle as a result of a direct connection through TAXI with a very successful west coast Music Publisher.James H. (Texas)- Still benefiting from his initial forwards through TAXI, James was recently informed that his song “New Day’s Dawning” has been placed in the CBS show Shark, which aired in episode 215 on May 13th.Jake S. (Texas)- After Jake’s first year with TAXI, he was recently informed by the Music Supervisor of a popular daytime talk show that he was being included as a staff composer for the show. Here’s what Jake had to say: “I made 40 submissions and had 18 forwards in the first year and never heard back on a single one. So needless to say I was very excited when the call came on the day I decided to renew my membership!!”Steven M. (Canada)- Steven reported to us that he recently signed a music licensing deal with a new and growing LA-based Online Music Licensing Company, which he was forwarded to through a TAXI listing request. The songs that were signed were Jazz & Electronica Holiday songs. This was also the only submission that he’s made through TAXI thus far! Steven comments about the Custom Critique he received, which resulted in this deal: “I am very grateful to Taxi and the reviewer who reviewed my first track. You should find out who it is and thank them for the advice, I applied it to the two tracks that were forwarded and I actually apply now to everything I am working on. Was really sound advice ”Joey O. (Maryland)- As a result of his TAXI membership, Joey has signed his Hip-Hop album with an Independent Music Distributor with Major Distribution affiliation. The deal begins as a 90-day digital distribution deal, with exclusivity. If he sells 500+ units within that period, this company offers full retail & general distribution in North America - in stores such as Best Buy, Walmart, Kmart, Target, etc.Joey O. (Maryland)- Joey signed his Hip-Hop song “Think About It” with a highly successful Publisher that specializes in Film & TV placements after he was forwarded through TAXI.Joey O. (Maryland)- As a result of his TAXI membership, Joey signed his R&B Instrumental, “Paradise,” to an established Music Library/Publisher.Joey O. (Maryland)- Joey’s Hip-Hop Instrumental, “Packin Heat” was signed to a large International Music Publisher/Production/Management Company. This is a result of a forward through a TAXI listing request.Joey O. (Maryland)- After a forward through TAXI to a huge Production Music Publisher/Library that has signed tons of TAXI songs, Joey had his Hip-Hop/Jazz Instrumental, “Breathe” signed.Adrian B. (Florida)- Having been TAXI members for two months, Adrian & Andy submitted their Newzy Drum & Bass Instrumentals through a Dispatch listing request and were signed to an LA-based Music Publisher who has signed and placed numerous TAXI writers/songs. Here’s what they had to say: “Those 2 songs grew to 5 and now we are working on more material they need weekly. We signed up no too long ago and already have a great contact and hopefully some work airing on network tv. Taxi ROCKS!! I only wish we jumped on board sooner!”Dave W. (Missouri)- Dave’s first ever placement with a West Coast Music Publisher/Library through TAXI in 2004 is paying off again, as this company recently placed two of his tacks with a company that provides relaxing music designed for their Yoga/Meditative marketing compilation CD, online sales, and part of the companies streaming media.Dave W. (Missouri)- Dave recently had two of his Horror/Suspense Instrumentals placed in an Independent Horror Film. His songs were originally forwarded through TAXI around June 2006, so it took roughly two years for this deal to develop with the independent film director.Jean C. (Canada)- Jean is doing a great job working off of the connection he made through TAXI by signing three more songs to an LA-based Music Publisher with tons of Film/TV placements. Two of these songs were French Pop songs, and the other song is an Instrumental Tango. “Things go fine once you have a foot in the door that Taxi opened.”Bob M. (Virginia)- Bob & Nita’s Latin/Jazz/Bossa Nova song “Dark Moon Over Me” was signed to a leading Film/TV Publishing company after learning about this company through the TAXI Road Rally. This song was created from a collaboration between two TAXI members on the TAXI forums!Bob M. (Virginia)- Bob & Nita’s Portuguese Latin/Jazz/Bossa Nova song “Lua Sobre Mim” was signed to a West Coast Music Library/Publisher to pitch to film/TV/media projects as a result of Nita’s connection she already made through TAXI. This song was created from a collaboration between two TAXI members on the TAXI forums!Keith L. (New Jersey)- Keith recently signed his 1970’s Classic Rock song “Devil Woman” with a leading Film/TV Publisher. This was a non-exclusive deal that developed 2 months after he was forwarded through TAXI.Martin H. (Switzerland)- Martin recently signed one of his Lounge Instrumentals to a Leading West Coast Publisher/Library as a result of a forward through TAXI.Ted F. (New Mexico)- Less than two months after he was forwarded through TAXI, Ted was notified that his A capella DooWop song “Love Me, Baby” was signed to a very high-profile Music Publisher/Library based in LA.Walter G. (Germany)- Walter joined TAXI 5 months ago and was recently forwarded to the Owner of a well-established Music Production Library. His Bluegrass and Celtic Instrumentals that were forwarded turned into 18 of his Instrumentals being exclusively signed. The others signed range from Jazz to New Age to Acoustic Guitar Instrumentals. Some of these songs signed were songs he created 10 years ago!Vicky G. (California)- After she submitted towards a TAXI listing request that was seeking Contemporary Jazz Songs & Instrumentals, Vicky signed three songs with an LA-based Music Library/Publisher.Vicky G. (California)- Vicky’s Contemporary Jazz Instrumental album, Helicopter Card, was recently signed to an Independent Music Distributor that represents distribution in North America. This was a result of a forward through a TAXI listing request.Shaun B. (Utah)- Shaun recently signed his Big Band Swing song “Hop, Skip and a Jump” with an LA-based Music Publisher with tons of Film/TV placements, including a lot of TAXI material signed and placed, all as a result of a forward through TAXI.Shaun B. (Utah)- As a result of his TAXI membership, Shaun had his Jazz songs forwarded and then had his Jazz/Pop crossover album Big Bang Theory signed with an Independent Music Distributor with Major Distribution affiliation.Richard L. (Oregon)- Richard recently signed his bands 1960’s Rock song “Sacrifice” with an Independent Music Publisher who has secured tons of Film/TV placements and has signed dozens of TAXI writers.Kathleen S. (Oregon)- Taking advantage of her original connection through TAXI with a very successful Music Publisher, Kathleen submitted some of her Medieval sounding songs to them and had her song “Wassail” signed soon after.Vicky E. (New York)- Vicky recently had three of her Holiday songs and two vocal Americana/Blues songs “Dance With Me” and “I Miss You (More Than I Usually Do),” signed by a new and growing LA-based Online Music Licensing Company as a result of a forward through TAXI.Dan C. (California)- After being forwarded through a TAXI listing requesting Rock/Pop Instrumentals, Dan had his song “I Still Believe” signed by a U.K.-based Music Library/Publishing Company who focuses on TV placements.Dan C. (California)- Dan recently signed his song “On Christmas (I’m Givin’ All My Love To You)” with a Online Music Licensing Company as a result of his TAXI membership.Charlie E. (New Jersey)- Charlie’s two Solo Piano renditions of Christmas songs “Away In A Manger” and “Here We Come A-Caroling” were recently signed to a new and growing and successful Online Music Licensing Company as a result of a forward through TAXI.Allan D. (Spain)- Allan has recently informed us that he signed his song “I Will Succeed” to an LA-based Music Publisher/Library as a result of a TAXI forward.Janelle D. (California)- As a result of a TAXI forward, Janelle signed a few of her Christmas songs to an west coast based Online Music Licensing company.Harry K. (New Jersey)- As a result of his TAXI Membership, Harry’s band signed two songs including a Christmas song and Renaissance/Baroque Instrumental with a highly successful Music Publisher.Christine C. (Texas)- As a result of a forward through TAXI, Christine signed six songs to a Music Publisher with tons of Film/TV placements. All licensing and publishing revenues are to be split 50/50 for this particular deal.Carla B. (New Mexico)- Carla recently mentioned that she signed one of her songs to a Texas based Film/TV Publisher as a result of a forward through TAXI.Michael B. (Canada)- Michael recently signed his Sad Instrumental Piano piece to an established LA-based Music Publisher/Library as a result of his TAXI membership.Liam K. (Spain)- Liam, submitting to TAXI from Spain, had his Singer/Songwriter tune “Let It Go” signed with a top LA-based Music Publisher. It only took a couple of weeks to hear back from the company after he was forwarded through TAXI.Liam K. (Spain)- As a result of his TAXI membership, Liam signed his Pop/Rock/AAA song “Rescue Me” to an Independent Music Publisher. A representative got back to him a few days after they had received the song.Sam R. (Australia)- Sam signed one of his songs to a successful Los Angeles based Publishing company as a result of a forward through TAXI six months ago.Sam R. (Australia)- Sam also made a connection through TAXI in December 2007 with a Texas based Music Licensing company by signing four songs, and he has recently signed three more songs with them.Congratulations to everyone of the month of May!
