Until I get the hand of Virtual instruments I guess Ill just send solo pianos. Woohoo!! Also, even though I know there's big improvement in my sound, Im still not happy with it. Any suggestions are welcome. BTW, this is with a free trial offer of truepianos. Congratulations on the forward. This is a really interesting listing I think because of the wide variety of "romantic" interpretations. Nothing wrong with solo piano, especially when a solo piano has a good sound as opposed to an "orchestrated" piece that sounds too synthy. So if you're in the process of building your sounds, definitely stick with the quality sounds and add instruments as you add the quality sounds to your arsonal.

Great piece, I like to hear the classical influence and chops!!Your composing and feel is very good and the solo piano is a strong point so play to your strengths and, as Dave said, add quality sounds a bit at a time and learn to use them well and you'll be creating viable pieces all the way along!!Congrats,Mazz

Ditto ditto ditto! Very nice tune. I was in the same spot you are in. Listen to mister Walton (heck, listen to some of his stuff). I went the route of EWQLS (East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra Silver) which is a VST plugin (orchestra), but it contains quite a nice piano. I was having the same comments in my returns (sounds too synthy, or pianos was recorded poorly etc etc). Then on my first try with EWQLS, I got a forward and a 10 on engineering and recording.Here's the one that was forwarded (not anywhere near perfect for my taste but...):http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... rueAnother point when it comes to VST pianos....your controller. A standard synth keyboard just doesn't cut it. I use my Alesis QS8 keyboard with weighted keys to do my piano stuff. You can still tell in the Chopin piece that I am struggling with control, but again, it was my first try. Same problem I had in college getting used to the Yamaha's in the practice rooms. Every piano (or controller) has it's own thang. It's been a real adventure with digital VST piano's. There are so many settings between the VST program AND your controller, that, eventually, you'll get that"feel" (you know what I'm talking about). That connection between you and the ivories that can't be explained in the worldly realm.I'm not there yet with VST's, but I'm getting close.Many of us are happy to help on a personal basis as well (via email or whatever). I have had tons of advice from many board members.You can also send personal messages to board members, and receive them (don;t know if you knew that...I just found out!).Keep up the wonderful work.Bresky

TY CK!! Hi Bresky! Thanks for the advice! I have the EWQLS too, in fact I had another fw using their piano, which I bought because Dave Walton talked about that over a year ago, and I have a nice keyboard, a Korg Tr ( and a friend is giving me her Yamaha DX7 now as a gift!! ) Im just "trying" now with VST's. I splurged on cakewalk,the korg, the EWQLS and a nice pair of studio monitors last year and just when I was about to install them and learn the whole world exploded. I was laid off, my 6 mo. only grandson died. The works! Now that Im back to normal ( I think) what I realize is that I know nothing about midi and Im planning to take an online course. Im not happy with my sound, have no idea how to quantize and Im fighting with reverbs and controllers .Dont know how to use the controllers, but hey, at least now I know where they are, ha ha! So I'll keep on trying!
