Cheers Mr Brown,

Ok need to run off and check out a bit of west coast now :)

I had this one written before the listing came up and it was influenced by the BB King track 'Woke UP This Morning'

Check out Louie Jordan also (Caledonia, Knock Me a Kiss, Saturday Night Fish Fry). The early fifties was transitional between Big Band and Jump Blues. Your update of the style works well and makes it sound current.

One I got to work the stage on was Charles Brown.

Thought I'd copy up the rejection of Under Your Thumb. My mate on kit was none too happy and he's played for Lillian Boutte, Montreux jazz festival and sessions for the late Martin Rushent and London's Chicago in the west end. Horn players can be heard on Van Morrison, The Manfreds.

'Tom, for this sort of broadcast quality listing, I advise developing a clearer overall sound. I also think the feel, especially drums, could sound more human and idiomatic. The cymbal crashes in particular could use greater variety and expression. Additionally, although I like what the vocal is going for in terms of character, I think the performance could sound more secure as far as intonation.'

'Hello Tom,
The song is nicely crafted, and the arrangement is fun. I'm especially impressed by the hot guitar licks. However, as I note in the individual comment, I think the overall production and vocal performance could be improved for this sort of high bar broadcast quality listing.
Keep up the good work and all best to you.'

On target for the listing but drums/percussion too stiff or mechanical.
