I'm going to add that IMO Mentor Lunches are for us to pick the brains and have access to decision makers in the industry. Have your elevator pitch ready so when the mentor sits down and asks what you do, you can quickly and effectively tell them who you are. Also have some questions in mind... maybe general ones about the industry itself, or specific ones about what you do. Listen to what other people ask and glean what you can. Most of us never have the opportunity to sit with a label rep / library owner / TAXI screener / songwriting teacher / hit producer for 20 minutes (never mind 3 or 4 of 'em)!!One other thing - some mentors are really good at making sure they go around the table and hear from everyone. Others are not... so you need to speak up when there is an opening.

I was wondering about the exact same thing....so what's that about buying tickets?...and is there more I need to pay for 'to hear' that I didn't know about? But it sounds like it is only the lunch that you pay for (like you should have anyway), only this is a lunch together with the pro's/mentors.Sounds like something I wouldn't miss....when and where do I buy the tickets? I gotta BE there! THANKS for all your great advice! You are the best!Cheers from Denmark

So I just received the email about the mentor lunch registration. My question for those of you who have attended before is...are the mentors different at each lunch? I saw that 'Big Blue' stated above that he attended both and I intend to do the same but wanted to make sure I wouldn't be meeting with the same exact mentors both times. Thanks

Yes, I've been to both and never had the same mentors. I know they try to mix them up, so you might get a music publisher, a rock A&R person, a songwriting teacher and a film/tv library person, for example. Even when they aren't in my genre/niche, I still find something to ask about the industry, composition, or how to pitch effectively.

Hey everyone,New user and first time attendee. I signed up and payed for both lunches online. My question is (and I know I should just call Taxi offices tomorrow) should I receive some sort of indicator that my purchase went through? I haven't heard if they were sold out, then I just checked my bank and it was charged. Just wondering if you guys got feedback on being signed up.ThanksChrisaka - Tripnet

I didn't get any feedback either, so I emailed Taxi and they confirmed that my lunches were reserved. Here's part of their email:"The company that we run the cards with typically send an email within 24 hours after the transaction is made. I believe a few members haven't received them also."Richard
