Thanks for all the suggestions. Sorry for my extremely delayed acknowledgement. I will print this off for future reference. I stuck with my current P-85 for now. I mainly use it for midi based grand piano ( so I can correct my mistakes.. lol), organ and other keyboard based effects. Slowly will get into more of the other virtual instruments. (one of my goals for 2016.)

Thanks all.

if you know who "Ski" is (Peter Schwartz) and have watched any of his instructional videos on Macprovideo.com etc you might be interested to know that he has:

1) an 88 key weighted controller (actually might be with sounds) - A Kurzweil or something. And he's a piano player so that likely explains his choice.
2) several Korg Nano controllers that are setup to trigger various CC's via sliders and keyswitch notes http://www.sweetwater.com/store/search.php?s=korg+nano

if you use Logic X, he also has a wicked little scripting application that he has put together that helps patch your main controller together with a secondary controller set to low register for keyswitching. http://www.skiswitcher.com

So - considering buying a new keyboard - well for cheap, you can get a couple Nano units and use them for a variety of things you might be missing already on your main controller.

Re: Midi Controller Options? --> SkiSwitcher

Hijacking the thread momentarily. :-)

SkiSwitcher looks awesome, I will be buying it as soon as I get home tomorrow.

Andy, is there a library of scripts available for any of the standard Kontakt instruments like Scarbee Jay Bass, Session Horns Pro, Action Strings, etc, or do you have to create them yourself?

Thanks for the tip!

hey, as long as we are on the subject: I did get SkiSwitcher, and if you do a lot of keyswithing, it is pretty awesome. Takes some configuration, but not difficult. And Peter is incredibly helpful!
