mixdown in cakewalk sonar
any sonar users here?
i'm trying to find a way to mix down/record many midi tracks into audio tracks in one single operation. the way i do it now, i have to mix down one track at the time, which takes "ages" for a multitrack song.
i use sonar 8.5

Do you mean mix them all down to a single audio track?melodymessiah wrote:any sonar users here?

If so, solo each midi track you want to mix down, then send them all to a new audio track.
Dave.

I put the kettle on, it didn't suit me.

Yes, you can export each individual track from a Sonar project into separate wave files in a single pass.
In the export dialog box, select "Tracks" as your "Source category". I assume you prefer not to use compression and EQ plugins inside Sonar; personally, I prefer to stay inside Sonar until the final mastering stage when it's best for me to finalize my completed stereo file in a wave editing program.
I hope this advice works for your older version of Sonar.... it has been a while since I worked on version 8.5.
Good luck!
Allen

Re: mixdown in cakewalk sonar
I looked it up and it seems like this video briefly shows how to export multiple tracks to separate wave files in one pass using Sonar Version 8:

It's not a clear picture, but the guy speaks clearly about the feature.
I hope I'm not leading you down another dead-end, but maybe this is worth another look before moving on.
Good Luck,
Allen
