Wow, Tim-- I'm impressed!! That's a super high bar listing, and with comments like that from our TAXI screeners, you're surely to land yourself a few very very juicy deals!! Which song was it??I went and listened again to several of your songs-- I've always been a fan of your voice (I love your vocals in Say Goodbye), and I expect you'll have plenty of places for songs like yours. Love those harmony choruses of yours! Do you write them all yourself too?Congrats again, Tim!! Raags

Re: Modern Pop/Hot AC Forward
It was for Mr. Giraffe. I hope it lands something. I've had a good amount of forwards in my few years, and a handful of library deals signed and in action, but no placements yet.And the cycle continues...same song got returned today with a nearly 180 degree different critique--and for a similar listing. Thanks for checking out the rest of the tunes though. Sadly, Say Goodbye and that whole lot of songs (from Beautiful Baby Elephant) hasn't made it past the screeners much. Maybe I'm pitching them wrong, not really sure.Jan 22, 2009, 5:11pm, ragani wrote:Wow, Tim-- I'm impressed!! Hi Tim,Don't lose hope here-- and hang on more tightly to those positive comments than to all the other stuff you'll hear. Truth is, I never imagined the kirtan/chant music that we do would find its way to where it has... but I find it's really a matter of consistently submitting good stuff, until it finds its place. And it will. Your stuff is so nicely mainstream and marketable, and I love your vocals-- I really believe it's just a matter of time before you really hit home with some of your tracks. Do you write all your own songs?Cheers to you!Raags

Congrats Tim, and man, that's a great song! You've got a great voice. Very nice production too. Great job!- Big Blue

Re: Modern Pop/Hot AC Forward
Tim,Big congrats on the forward. Nice props from the reviewer. I totally agree with Big Blue. Also congrats on the baby! You're hitting all gears in terms of a full life.Your comment: "Sadly, Say Goodbye and that whole lot of songs (from Beautiful Baby Elephant) hasn't made it past the screeners much." I was checking out some of your tunes like "Alibi" "Say Goodbye" "Why So Serious?" Great stuff. If you're not getting lots of forwards with your music, it certainly has nothing to do with the quality, professionalism, or production. Clearly you have put forth the necessary effort.I noticed in the TAXI listing that "Rob Thomas" was one of the writer/artists mentioned. Given that one of the reviewers believes your stuff to fall within that range, if you decide to go to the ASCAP New York Sessions in March, since Rob Thomas is going to be the keynote, if I were you, I would put together a CD of my top three Modern Pop/Hot AC songs and have it ready to pass on to Rob if the opportunity arises. Just a thought.GB

Take the words of praise from that screener, and brand them into your brain. Put them up as a quote and frame them for your studio wall. Don't let them slip by or get covered up by the other non-forwards. So many times success is just a matter of keeping at it a little longer than the others do, and stacking the odds in your favor. And in the meantime, it's nice to surround yourself with the thoughtful words of others. For you, it's just a matter of time...Raags
