Moonlight and Mist

Post by couchgrouch » Tue Oct 31, 2006 8:00 am

Moonlight and MistMoonlight danced along the treetopsas I parked my cherry t-topin a pine grove near the river's edgeshe smiled and began to shiveras she lay beside the riverand our passion crossed a foggy bridgemidnight's pulse was softly poundin'as a breeze from distant mountainsbrushed the crimson curls from her pale breastmy gaze reached out to hold herand her kiss upon my shoulderwas light as the kiss of moonlight and mistwe knew that night was forbiddenbut like red curls tied by ribbonsour love couldn't be held back for longbut come dawn when we awakenedtime we'd shared and risks we'd takensailed away like a hoot owl's songshe said it wouldn't surprise herif her man was none the wiserthat she'd ever been caressed or kissedshe kept her heart cool and shadedtill she told him love had fadedlike morning wisps of moonlight and mistwe used to meet from dusk, long into the morning lightbut did night belong to us, or did we belong to nightcos we still lay by the riverbut it's me who feels a shiverand sometimes worries it's from her kissO can my love really change herdoes she still dance with the dangerof love shrouded in moonlight and mistmoonlight and mistmoonlight and mist...(c)2006 Robert George
