More to Taxi than just the listings!
Hi everybody,
I thought I'd report a little breakthrough that I had last month, then waffled on whether this should be reported as a "Taxi success", since it didn't come from a listing exactly. Then it occured to me that, yeah, Taxi's service centres (Canadian spelling!) around the listings, but it's also a place where great connections are made...
I finally received interest from a well-known library a couple months back on material I'd been sending them directly over that past year or so. I sent them periodic updates of what I'd been working on, on a frequency that wasn't so often to be annoying, but wasn't so infrequent that they could forget who I was. When I heard from the library owner, it was a BIG CREDIBILITY BOOST that I was a Taxi member, and in fact knew a handful of the writers that were in his catalog already. Plus, he attended the Road Rally as a guest, and I saw him there.
Ultimately, when I needed to separate myself from the swarm of other writers that they get unsolicited material from, it was my Taxi connections that made the difference. Fast forwarding now, I've just completed 13 Sports/Action tracks that will be released to his 'A List' of clients in June. Thanks Taxi!! Just goes to show, that it pays to not only submit your music through Taxi's traditional channel, but to leverage the contacts you make through both the Forum and the Road Rally. You never know where opportunity will come from!
Here's a sample of from that collection of tracks, for anyone interested: http://www.greengatemedia.com/downloads/Kickstart.mp3
(btw, Greengate Media is ME, not the library in question!)

This is a great story, Eliot!! Luv it!!
We should never underestimate the total value TAXI brings to our careers. The listings are great... The Rally is great... The networking is great... The collaborating is great... The Forum is great!
So yeah, I'd chalk this up as a TAXI success story.
All The Best & More,
Allen

Great Story and good point Eliot.
I've had the same reaction from a few companies as well - the Taxi name is well respected in the biz.
Congrats
