Hi,
I'm fairly new to Taxi, and since I've joined, I've had two songs picked up by a music library from another website under a non-exclusive deal. This company seems fairly small and get around 50-100 placements per year (which I don't know if that's a lot or not). I've been submitting to Taxi listings, and just got one of the same songs forwarded to an exclusive listing. My question is, if an exclusive library wants one of my songs that's already signed with a non-exclusive library, should I pull the song out of the non-exclusive to sign with the exclusive? Or does it make more sense to spread songs around in non-exclusive libraries. It seems like most of the listings here on Taxi are exclusive. For someone who doesn't have any history of placements and a small catalog of songs (only about 6 broadcast quality currently, hoping to get to ten in the next couple of months), is there a certain best strategy to doing this? Or is it all just trial and error. I'd appreciate any advice.
If anyone's interested, the songs that got accepted/forwarded are:

"We Say Thank You": https://soundcloud.com/mattglickstein/we-say-thank-you
"You Are There": https://soundcloud.com/mattglickstein/you-are-there

Re: Music library question
If it were me I would only pitch the songs you have already signed non-exclusively to other non-exclusive deals, it's just cleaner that way. I'd only pitch songs to exclusive deals that are free and clear.

Re: Music library question
Given the nature of the industry, it might be difficult to pull a track from a non-exclusive library in a flash. They could have been actively pitching it and perhaps even have placed it without your knowledge, and you would only find out about the placement from your PRO statement. Your best strategy now is to keep writing and have fresh tracks available if contacted by the exclusive library (which could be months too) so you can politely say, "Thank you so much for contacting me, unfortunately, since I submitted to the TAXI listing that track was signed elsewhere, however I have three more like it, may I sent you links for consideration?"
And, as above, don't be submitting things already signed elsewhere to exclusive listings. Keep writing, and pitching new tracks.
