Quote:Arg...not a pleasure. I just read a little local op ed piece in the paper about a 40-something father battling his children in the car over the music in the cd player..he mentioned "Don't Give Up On Us Baby" by David Soul. Now I can't get it out of my head...someone please help me!You're gonna laugh but I love that song. Soul had a very pretty voice.

Quote: A sign of a good song is that it sticks in your head... I would have to take exception this blanket statement. Although a good song often does stick in your head, everything that sticks in your head is not therefore good. Allegorical case in point – the image that was recently posted here and link replaced with something awful. I didn’t even see it, but the description was disgusting enough that my mind conjured up its own mental picture that “stuck in my head”. Was that a good image just because it stuck?Songs can be like that too. Reviewing random songs on Broadjam I came across a ludicrous, offensive and ignorant song about a very serious topic. It was sooooo bad that the stupid thing stuck in my head. The poor writing, incompetent performance and all were bouncing around in my skull days after hearing it. So bad it was catchy.I’m sorry… were we talking about David Soul. Well then, maybe this is not too off topic. :)

well, so much for my attempt at humour ...ok - I'll modify my blanket statement (which I didn't really agree with myself)...one sign of a good song, or a really bad song (as well as annoying), is that it sticks in your head...as far as David Soul, beauty is in the head of the beholder

NOT.If inflection could be added to type, then subtle humor will be easier to detect....

Yeah, nothing sticks in your head like Manilow and the Carpenters, and we all know how bad that stuff is. It'll stick so long that you grow a horrible-music tumor in your brain.WHAT?Oh, come on now, you didn't expect me to believe you really like them.

I think Karen C did a wonderful job with the note she sang. Just a personal observation.

Did you ever wonder what Toni Tenille wanted the Captain to do to her one more time?

Hark! It could make one wonder if the two songs were connected in some unmentionably strange way...
