My first forward :)

Post by JamesHinchon » Thu Apr 30, 2015 7:23 pm

Hi, I'm quite new to TAXI as I just signed up at the beginning of this year and didn't really know what to expect, I was pretty pumped to get a forward for my song the other day. I haven't written this style before so I was so grateful to get a forward! It was for:
"DARK, MYSTERIOUS, TENSION-BUILDING ORCHESTRAL INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a very successful Music Licensing Company that offers EXCLUSIVE and NON-EXCLUSIVE deals. They get tons of great placements in Films, TV Shows, Commercials, etc., and are currently expanding and freshening up their catalog! Please submit Instrumental Cues in All-Tempos and listen to the following references as a general guide for the texture, tone, and vibe they need. Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..." etc etc.

I've just read some fantastic feedback on the forum about "submitting, forgetting and then repeating" so I'll put that into practice now! Who knows if the song will get used, but it's very encouraging to get a forward and know I'm at least on the right track.

Cheers. James :)

Congrats, James. That's a good feelin' ain't it. :D (specially since TAXI is a High-Bar company)

You said you haven't written in this style before, so I'm guessing that you wrote this specifically for the listing. That really is the way to go... many more forwards can be had from "writing to the listing" than trying to find listings that "might" match what you've already got in the can.

Good goin' there. Hope you get many more.

Thanks Gary and Russell :)

That's right Russell, I wrote this song for the listing. So far that's kind of what I'm doing as I'm slowly building my catalogue of songs. There's so many listings, yet so little time to write for them all ;) so I've been keeping my eye open for what I think I can come up with in a "short" amount of time for the listing.
I've submitted a few singer-songwriter tunes - no forwards, but some great constructive feedback, which is all part of growing hey.

Cheers,
James.
