My FIRST forward!!!

Post by TedYoder » Wed Oct 09, 2024 12:13 pm

I know this doesn't mean I'm getting a placement or anything like that, but after joining Taxi in January 2024 and finding lots of frustration, this is such balm for the soul and a BIG shot in the arm to keep building my catalog. Thank you Taxi, Michael, and all the inspiration from current and past members from Taxi Radio. So excited to have this happen right before the rally too. Big "thank you" to the screening team as well. They hurt me and told me I needed to get better. While I took time away to lick my wounds, I guess I've listened and learned. That's exciting too.

Listing: S241003HP

I wanted to attach my song and a screen shot of the feedback I received but I'm not sure how. I'm too much a child of drag and drop.
If anyone can quickly explain how to attach these items, I'll post them for you to see and listen to.

Hey, congrats! You've gotta get the first one before you can get the 100th one! Keep going!

@RealPickle Yeah I've heard the first placement and forward are hardest to get. Hopefully I'll get many more. My wife called to celebrate and she asked, "What now"? I responded, "Back to work". ;)

Congrats - at minimum - now you know you can do it.

Congrats!! That's about right 8-10 months for the first forward, of course there are exceptions.

Forward, then signed and then hopefully a placement.

Good Luck

Thank you.
I hadn't heard those numbers but it came at the right time that's for sure. I needed to emotional boost. ;)

Great news Ted! The first one is always special and makes you believe you're going in the right direction! Bravo!

Now to answer your question about attaching a song:
1. your song has to be set to "public", if it isn't already you can change that by going to the edit page for that specific song
2. copy the link under "share with collaborators" back in the main page
3. Past the link you copied in your original post in the forum by going to the edit page of that specific post

Good luck with your music!

Thank you Chris for both. It felt very special. Now back to work as usual but with a little more wind in my sails. :)

Here is the listing and I'm repeating your link so people can read and listen easily: https://www.taxi.com/members/XOGhvrikTZ ... mises-kept
Lots of Emotionally UPLIFTING PIANO/STRING INSTRUMENTALS and/or INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a Great Music Licensing Company with lots of Film and TV placements.

NOTEWORTHY: This company has landed over 300 international placements in the past 6 months, with one TAXI member earning $8k in royalty payments from his Songs during that period.

This Library is looking for Instrumentals (and/or Cues) in the general stylistic ballpark of the following references:

"Inspirational Piano" by Olexandr Ignatov

"Uplifting Piano" by AShamaluevMusic

"Epic Emotional Piano" by Infraction

Please submit well-composed Instrumentals (and/or Cues) that feature piano and strings with an uplifting, hopeful, and inspiring sound and vibe! Your submissions should have excellent musicianship, engaging rhythms, optimistic melodies, inspirational motifs, and dynamic arrangments that build in intensity and grandness as the piece progresses. Instrumentation should feature Piano and strings, but additional elements (percussion, drums, bass, cymbal swells, etc.) could all work here as well. Please do not submit solo Piano tracks for this opportunity. Also, please be sure that all virtual instruments or samples you use are high-quality, modern, and very realistic sounding.

Your submissions should be roughly 1.5 minutes long for Cues, and about 2 to 4 minutes long for Instrumentals, give or take. Non-faded, buttoned/stinger endings will work best. Please do NOT copy the referenced artists or songs in any way, shape, or form. Use them only as a guide for tempo, texture, and tone. Do NOT submit any material with unauthorized samples of any other artists’ music, sounds, or any other form of media. Broadcast Quality is needed.

AI ALERT: This company does not accept or sign music that has been melodically composed using generative AI, nor does it accept backing tracks or full instrumental tracks created with AI.

This company offers an EXCLUSIVE deal, so please be sure the Instrumentals and/or Cues you pitch for this opportunity are NOT already signed with any other Companies or Catalogs. Any sync fees will be split 50/50 with the Company. You'll get 100% of the Writer's share, and the Publisher will get 100% of the Publisher's share. You must own or control your Master and Copyright to submit. Please submit as many Instrumentals and/or Cues as you'd like, online or per CD. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 PM (PDT) on Thursday, October 3rd, 2024. TAXI # S241003HP
Nice piece of music, congrats! :D You never forget your first...

:D Casey
