My First Forward - TRADITIONAL FOLK INSTRUMENTAL CUES

Post by Dael » Wed Jan 04, 2017 4:17 pm

I am a fairly new Taxi member, and a brand new forum member hoping to connect and learn from the best. I am a singer songwriter and have decided to push my boundaries.

So far I have only submitted for two listings and the first, while a great learning experience was well out of my core skills. When I saw this listing I just had to test my ability to write to spec, and chose this listing for two reasons. Firstly I just love acoustic based music and next because the piece would get critiqued. I was ready to have my piece returned and learn from the comments. To my surprise I got a forward, but more important to me was the structure and value behind the critique.

The listing:

TRADITIONAL FOLK INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a Music Licensing Company with a really remarkable list of placements in TV, Film, and Commercials. They’re looking for Traditional Folk Instrumental Cues in All Tempos that you’d hear on a playlist with artists like (but not limited to), Bob Dylan, Simon & Garfunkel, Doc & Merle Watson, etc., etc., etc.

Here is my take on the requirement, and my first step at opening up my music to the community. https://soundcloud.com/brobax/acoustic-goodnight

Thanks Taxi.

Hi Dael - I can see why they forwarded it. Nice recording/tone on the guitars and good balanced mix overall.
Welcome and congrats on the forward!
