My first placement(s) 8 of them

Post by fusilierb » Sun Jan 16, 2011 3:25 pm

Wow, I'm kind of blown away right now. I was digging through old emails trying to find a login to pay a stupid bill when I ran across an email from ASCAP that listed my login for their online account. I forgot my password many months ago, tried to log in on a couple of occasions, couldn't get in, dropped it. It's always just been tumbleweeds blowing around in there anyhow. So now that I see the info, I logged in. Again zero balance and no activity, but wait, what's this? A cuesheet? Click. What, eight cuesheets?? What is all this?

I've never seen a real cuesheet before and it took me a while to piece together what was going on. Apparently a solo piano piece got picked up for a Discovery show I've never heard of. I didn't even recognize the name of the piece cause the library changed the title up. But I did some digging and found the library that renamed it that. I was excited when I signed with them cause I heard they get placements and apparantely that is very true! :D

I'm not really sure how the show is using it, but they seem to use 15 seconds of the same piece on all the different episodes. I'm guess its the same 15 seconds? I've got to find that show now.

This is a deal that came as a result of a Taxi forward. I ended up signing 14 tracks with them.
Thanks Taxi! And thanks Micheal for all that you do here!!

This was a huge confidence booster that came at just the right time for me.

Bryan,

Congrats on the placements.

Sometimes the things that keep us motivated show up out of the blue at unexpected times, OR at exactly the time we need them to show up to kick us in the pants to keep going.

I heard someone at the Rally say that building a catalog is a marathon, not a sprint.

Keep running. ( a variation on write, submit, forget, repeat)
