Thank you for being open enough to allow me to send you some tunes.

All the songs on this demo were written and composed by me and I was fortunate enough to get Joel Kazmi who’s worked with artists like The Tea Party, Rush, N’sync, Sum 41, and Anne Murray to produce it.

Anyway, feel free to be as honest as you'd like. I appreciate you taking the time listen!

Strictly speaking, "Hey, check out my demo!!!" posts belong in the "Shameless Self-Promotion" forum; the one where posts go to die, but if you're sincerely in need of feedback, you take it to "Peer To Peer" one track at a time, and ask specific questions about mix, arrangement, suitability for a particular listing, etc. If you have questions about how best to use the fora, there's a section on Forum Rules and a sticky in this one for Newbs; you should have no trouble finding them, when you're logged in.

Now as to your music, I think it's great. Lots to like, starting with sincere, emotive vocals, fresh arrangements, solid lyrics and very well-recorded instruments. The sunny, optimistic outlook reflected in the lyrics remind me of the sort of giant, evil corporation that would love to license your music so as to make themselves appear friendlier, so there's definitely a market for it. I'd describe it as folk/singer-songwriter, just as you obviously did and that is also a very good thing. I don't know if you're sir or madam, but you seem a grownup, so I have a few notes, as well; hope it helps, here goes:

I'd like to hear more bottom end, generally. Doesn't need to be hiphop loud, but I wanna hear more; I hear bass, where's the kick? If it's folk and not bluegrass, I know it's OK to hit a drum once in a while, ;) Me, I like a nice Baxandall EQ across the mix buss, after the compressor, to really get the low end to 'bloom'

Speaking of drums, there are a few places where the auxiliary percussion gets a mite busy and distracting, particularly in the high frequencies-perhaps a monitor issue? Any case, the arrangements could be tightened a bit, imo. And on the first track, the fingersnaps are mixed way louder than I ever would, but that's perhaps a matter of taste.

I really appreciate the feedback and your input is incredibly kind and I've taken your advice to heart. I will definitely try to post somewhere more practical but you're still a gent and sir for listening!
