I recently submitted couple of Dubstep entries.
"In the Future" was returned: "There's a fun, danceable feel to this track, but the dubstep could come in earlier and have a harder, more definitive sound to it."
Anyway, I'd appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Re: My First try at Dubstep
These sound pretty great as dance type tracks. I'm no expert in dance or dubstep but there is one huge distinction between dubstep and these two tracks - the beat. Your beats are around 140, faster than a lot of dance ie 128 for example, which is what you want for dubstep - around 140. BUT the kick and snare pattern for dubstep is totally different than house / techno / electro, etc. Kick on the 1, snare on the 3, with a few variations thrown in here and there. It's like half-time from DnB.
Because of the groove element, I have no idea how throwing a new beat under your two tracks would play out musically. But maybe try it on your next dubstep track. These two tracks of yours might fit another category really well. Your production seems really good.
The only other thing I'm thinking (because I am trying this myself) - try taking out the dubstep elements, like wobble bass until you hit the drop. During the first 30 seconds of the drop, take out your dancey melodies, then bring them back in. If anyone else can correct me on that and give a better idea of arrangement, I'd love to hear it, because of the dubstep tracks I'm producing, and finding my way through it, as well.
Either way, great tracks as music, and I'm sure they'll find a home.

Re: My First try at Dubstep
Thanks Patty for the feedback!
Both tracks have the half-time beat much later in the songs. I suppose I should bring that in sooner, as the screener suggested.
