Post by wignelson » Thu Apr 16, 2009 2:36 am

No more glass cowbell, Cam. The drums were changed and the guitar sits better in the mix this time. http://www.soundclick.com/util/getplaye ... 49&q=hiAny comments appreciated.Wig

TITLE: "My Lobotomy Baby"ARTIST: wiggiestmusicBurl Ives? Just a little. More like a blend of Burl Ives and whoever it was in the band America who sang "Horse With No Name". Nonetheless, it is a great sounding voice."My Lobotomy Baby" is a cute and heartwarming tune. The lyrics are endearing. However, the reference to the child with "lobotomy" seems curiously strange. I know what you are going for, but I don't think "lobotomy baby" is expressing it well. In fact the lyrics "her mind is sitting in a mason jar" is just plain scary. Besides, isn't it "you" who is going crazy (according to the lyrics?) It seems that the "lobotomy" should be linked to "you" instead. As for the orchestration, the piano, lyrics and subject matter work well together, but the guitar track is way too energized. The guitar track does not feel like it belongs to the tune. I would suggest going for a simple acoustic strumming track instead. As for production, the vocals and piano sound fine, but the guitar track and drum track are a bit quiet.Timothy S. If I were you, I'd start over with this. The drums and bass are not working together.Mute all the instruments except them and get it sounding good.If the foundation of the rhythm section is not solid, nothing you put on top will help.
