I do my own thing with HIP HOP music. Most of my lyrics have hidden meanings, and I am not concerned with other peoples opinions when they have negativity towards my stuff. E.g. “you suck” “give up”. I do however respect truth in peoples words, and do appreciate positive criticism, even though sometimes that particular criticism isn’t always necessarily pleasant. Ah Steve. You beat me to it Alimony. There are a lot of members on here who also make their own music, and they kindly give up their own time to listen and comment on other peoples music at their request. That includes HIP HOP writers too!We are not here just to check out other members music. We are here as a community of people who love music, and the one thing most of us have in common is that we all believe we still have something to learn. In fact the learning never stops.I'm not going to listen to your music unless I can give an honest opinion. whether it's good or bad. So I guess I'm not going to listen to your music.What are you going to tell the A&R exec if he criticises your music?Are you going to tell him to get real?As a point of interest to you if you've read this far (you might of stopped reading because it was a bit negative), A&R people do roam these boards.Us people on here. We're about as real as you can get.

I listened to everything and what I hear is that you really love your music. That's a critical element in reaching people with your music. You pour a lot of emotion into your lyrics but there's quite a bit you need to learn before your recordings will effectively communicate those emotions to a wider audience. Your listeners are surrounded by musical excellence. If you want to be heard, you'll need to rise to meet the competition. It's not easy, but don't give up unless the music profession isn't calling to you.-Allen
