Man, Andy, now that is a bizarre one. Your dilemma reminds me of the time my band had a big L.A. showcase booked. I wanted us to sound as good as possible, so I paid the club's soundman $125 to mix our final rehearsal. --- A couple of days before the show, I called the guy up to run over a few things. His wife answered the phone, and when I asked for "Joe," there was a pause. Finally she said "Joe DIED last night." Seriously. So what could I do? What would anyone do?#1. Stop payment on the check.JUST KIDDING! The 2nd engineer did a pretty good job. --- Sometimes real life is stranger than fiction.Good Luck,Ern

Yep strange things happen!!Ted, thanks for your comments! It is strange that even though I am a "high d" personality when it comes to my writing I am as neurotic as the next one! Claire has been a great source of encouragement friendship and direction in Gnashville and I have received some awesome validation through Jason Blume, Broadjam, NSAI etc.Andy

I had a strange expierence myself...In the 90's a friend of a friend got me hooked up with Tom Dowd(yes, that Tom Dowd)....he wanted a song that sounded like "I Got A New Attitude" for a project he was doing....I spoke to him on the phone and sent out a copy of the song, but after it I put on a song I thought had potential....he called me and said he really liked the second song and would like to use it but he wanted to rework it...a week later....the friend of a friend called and told me Tom had died....and so did the project(obviously)....I felt like Al Bundy for a month.

As an interested party, you have a right to be involved in the probate process. You can find out from the county courthouse who the executrix is and follow up from there. A lot of this information is online these days, too.
