yes john, thanks for your good feedback; i'm with ascap. called them immediately. but hey aren't showing up for youtube videos...only, i believe i got this right, if it's a video that is a commercial as opposed to a video like the red bull one with background music (mine). Not sure, but ascap usually doesn't work that hard, imo. friends of mine have had to threaten to sue ascap to get them to do anything on a blatant sports channel channel (tv) cue sheet illegality. ascap has never collected a cent for me since they don't monitor college or non profit stations which is the community that plays my albums. It's pretty bad.... but yes, i'm hopeful and we are going to "work with them" on this.

I dunno - its pretty shitty for them to do it, but I'm sure I'm not the only one who's pretty excited for you!

This is a cool situation brought about by murky circumstances! If its as blatant as it sounds I'm sure you'll do great out of it.

Hi LesSampou - just caught up to this thread...any communication happen between your lawyer and the production company?

Also, I'm an ASCAP member and it's disheartening to read when writers have legitimate complaints ignored by their PRO. From what I gather, you can find equal parts satisfactory and unsatisfactory reports from different writers at the same PRO (BMI, SESAC included). Is this issue with college radio play enough for you to consider changing your affiliation?

HI Steven and Peter.
My PRO is asacap, and they've been ok.

The Red bull situation is winding down with letters going back and forth. I was on getty years ago--2011, so if this is the case, then they've been holding on to my music for a long while after i ended, or didn't renew, my interest with them. Suffice to say, I'll keep you posted!! and thanks for the head's up, though it doesn't bode well if my situation is similar....I guess I won't be getting that corvette.
