MySpace Sucks Even More Than I Thought

I attempted to use my Myspace site, referenced below my avatar, to provide a link for the Kara D. session. I hadn't been on the site for a few weeks. Went to my profile page, and my songs WOULD NOT PLAY. Then, I went to my TAXI posts, clicked on my MySpace link, and once again, my songs WOULD NOT PLAY.
I''d appreciate it if someone here would click on my "suspendedspidersongs" link, and tell me if they can hear any of my songs. Even better, tell me why I can't hear them. Thanks in advance.

Hey Ott.. I went to your MySpace ... The songs played for me. No problem.. Man they got a lot of ads on there .. Popups over the player , the ads are almost bigger than your content.. Very hard on the eyes.... I listened to your songs .. Man theres a lot of great tunes there.. Who is the girl singer ???.. friend, relative, union fill in ?.. She's got a reall nice voice .. is she it the same singer on all the girl singer tracks ? and who's the guy singer?? is that you?.. Fun songs ..
Your songs not playing for you may be that your internet history is locking in old pages.. Try clearing your history.. Thats happened to me where I cant find somting I know is ther but for some reason an old page comes up because of the history thing.. I clear the history and bammo things work .. Give it a try, i guess and good luck..

Yes, I have experienced this problem a lot with myspace. although I have not touched my account since the upgrade -- I had the same playing problem before their upgrade last year. I found it to be related to Flash player, but probably the issue is with the myspace site, because you can watch youtube, right?

What I did a few times previously, was to re-install the Flash player, and yes, it seems like browser may matter, too. I'm on a Mac and when I click on your play button, it briefly turns to a pause icon button as if it's going to play the song, then it flips immediately back to the play button. This is the same result I got on my own page, using either FF or Safari on a Mac. I would recommend trying to re-install Flash even though it's already installed. And see if that does anything.

I thought you created an account on Reverbnation? Why would you even think of using a myspace link for the Kara D. session when you know myspace has so many issues? You could also simply put a song on your Taxi page and reference that. You KNOW Taxi can access that!

Myspace is dead, deceased, no more, expired, pushing up daisies, gone to meet it's maker...

Christopher: Thanks for listening. Fact is, when I signed into my page, I couldn't access my own songs. Besides not playing for me, I kept on getting a pop-up box, asking if I wanted to "share'. At work today, I was able to get the songs to play.
Casey: You are correct, I probably should have tried the Reverbnation link. I did try to use the TAXI homepage, but neither my wife or I could see how to specify a link to a particular song. When we played any one song, the address was the same for all songs. I'm not all that computer literate, but my wife is, and we couldn't figure out how to do the link. Though I'll note that I listened to the broadcast, and only three songs were critiqued. Maybe I missed one, but I was hoping she'd critique a few more.

I stopped using MySpace because of similar problems over a year ago. I use Reverbnation and Soundclick. Recently I started using Soundcloud to collaborate with another writer. These are sites specifically catered for music, so you don't have to deal with a lot of needless extra stuff like you do in "MyWaste"..

Still can't get my songs to play, when I log into my MySpace site. Although I noticed that it now says I released an album on January 1, 2009. This was news to me!!! It seems the general public can access my songs, but if I want to enter my site and edit or listen -- well forget it.

Try making sure you're logged in and clicking only on the stuff to the right of where it says "My Myspace", when you want to edit. When you're not logged in, you should see what everybody else sees when visiting the page. HTH
