THE 515 AT THE 522 what a weird name
Is that really a song?

Also be aware to understand what you are paying for, Nashville does great demos, but you often need to pay additional master release fees, in order to pitch the recording for film/tv syncs. So if you want to go beyond pitching it for country listings at some point, you may need to clear the papertrail.
Thanks!
Thanks! It was a live recording.NaeDae wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2019 10:53 amThis song is damn good and it would work damn well in a movie almost exactly how it is. I wouldn't change a thing about the song itself actually. Keep the arrangement, the lyrics, the melody, the instrumentation just like they are because they sound 80s.
The only nitpick is that the lyrics kinda don't fit the vocalist in my opinion. I might suggest getting a more country-sounding singer, maybe a middle-aged woman. But what I love about how the singer sounded on the current version is that he sounds like he's singing live. It's not a perfect take; there's no pitch correction, no show-offy vocal runs, just a continuous relaxed performance.
And I'm telling you, this song is perfect otherwise. I'm imagining it in the background of a movie scene. The setting might be a small southern town during the 1980's. The main character just fought with her love interest and went to a diner to binge-eat pancakes alone at night while it stormed outside. See what I'm saying? I'm 20. I can write all kinds of current-sounding pop, but I can't for the life of me write a song that feels like this sounds. There's a magic you captured when you wrote this so don't worry about the details too much.
If that's the case I won't bother. I don't believe in paying for something twice. I have never paid for a master release and never will. Thanks for the heads up. I'm pretty good with contracts, but I'll have to check that.lesmac wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 2:33 amExactly, I hope you are cashed up.Re: Nashville Recording?

I will. I already sent an email to that effect.Kolstad wrote: ↑Sat Apr 06, 2019 3:30 pmIts not that they are doing anything fishy, on the contrary. They provide songwriters with demos at very reasonable rates in Nashville, but standard is that they are only meant to be songwriter demos. Songwriters only most often dont need to have the master, but if you intend to pitch for tv and film opps, its a different thing, and you need to make sure the master is cleared (and that it can be, which also is not always the case, for various reasons). So be direct up front about what you need.
