I really like the vibe and the lyrics "Sunshine on my side of the street" is my favorite part. I think you can start more sparse and build more towards the chorus'. Build in some easier editing points (you have them there naturally anyway with the instrumentation in-between sections e.g. by dropping out some instruments and then starting them again.) The Yeah! yeah! yeah! could be more powerful by creating a dip in music density before those start. Even consider doing it almost acapella.
If you ever need backing vocals on any of your projects I would love to collaborate. Great voice!

Thanks Marthienel! I appreciate all the suggestions you gave. I can see where they would add some dynamics to the song. Thank you also for your offer to add background vocals in the future for us. That is very kind of you. John is the singer on this song and he does a great job with it. Perfect for his voice. I will pass it along.

Thank you again :)

Cool song. 8-) The upbeat "good day" theme makes it very sync-able including ads. I think the vocal could use more presence, at least that's how I hear it in these headphones.

Why not a "great day" instead of "good day"?

Good luck!
:D Casey

Hey guys, nice to hear some of your music again. I think it's a great song that hits all the targets lyrically and melodically.

Mix wise I couldn't hear any bass, super light in the low end except for some kick. It sounds pretty mono, not much in the sides.
The drums sound like they are in a box at the moment but if you visit the points above that may help some.

Some stereo handclaps could be in order too.

Cheers with this one. :)

Concur with others that it would be good to somehow emphasize the chorus more above the rest of the song.

Hi Casey, thanks for listening. We decided to keep the "Good" because John says he can sing it easier than "Great".
Thanks Les, I guess we were trying to keep the mix simple and not too heavy , but I think the base and drums sound pretty clear and full. If you have any ala's that is what we would like to have for this song. We can't think of too many at the moment. :?
Thanks Michael , we did our best on the mix and like I said, we tried to keep it simple and not fill the chorus up too much with instrumentation.

Thanks all

Tom

Comparing this to ad music I hear on TV*, I expect a more youthful, indie vibe. Could John take the song up a few steps to make it less relaxed and more energetic? Please don't be offended at my comment, I'm just repeating what the A&R voice in my head is saying... ;)

*TV ad music is exactly where I'd want to hear this!

I hear you Alan, but at this point we have already submitted it to a certain library. I know most commercials have a real up tempo rap feel, but I think this song would be hard to take it that far. Thanks for having a listen :)

My apologies guys, I think my ears must have been fried when I gave your song a listen. Lesson learned. Best of luck with this one.
