Need help badly

Post by gerg » Thu Jul 02, 2009 9:57 pm

Hi all... As the subject states... This is ROUGH! 1st take, no arrangement no real mix, no EQ. Just basic idea! Is this worth moving forward with? If so, lyrics? More... Less? Any how, all feedback welcome! Trying a new genre and am lost. Thanx\http://www.broadjam.com/artists/songs.p ... aID=441733

Hey Greg,Not really an expert on this kind of thing, myself, but starting to get into it more now. I always like the fact that there are guitars on a so called electronic tune - obvious as that may seem, but they seem to get the heave-ho when it comes to this genre, eh?I like the piece. Naturally given your intro above, it's not worth commenting on the performance, mix, tone, etc. To my ears, it's quite reminiscent of ZZ Top styled electronica - in that sense it does place it in a different time zone. However, I'm not really disposed to songs sounding aged or not, I prefer good or not If I had written it, I'd see it through, certainly, especially as it's a new experiment. I especially like the sequence type guitar riff that comes in about half way through.

Yeah I'd keep going with it see where it takes you. I'd say go heavier, that's what this vibe calls for to me. Iknow it's a rough, but make sure the staccato guitar bit on the right is spot on, as is there are some spots that fall out of the pocket and it's such a rhythmic part it's really noticeable. Keep going! eo.

Sorry I've (once again) been slow in responding to a post. I was camping all weekend! Anyway It's funny you guys say "CSI" thats what a friend of mine said today when he heard it. Those effects in the beginning were samples I remixed from beatscape which came with sonar producer 8. I use them a lot for my independant projects or when there are no available studio musicians. It's hard to get a drummer to come in when the mood strikes at 3am or whatever. Anyway, thanks for the feedback I'm gonna move forward with this one Then and I will try to get another post of it up when im done.
