Hi Torch, its all about the pre amp for mic and DI input !! (sorry if said earlier or something you know and Ive misread)Torch wrote:I would like to ask any and all of you, what do you consider to be an excellent PC Recording interface? just as long as the audio pc interface is clean and respects the signal coming from the mic and the pre (doesn't add or take away anything) it can be fairly inexpensive/irrelevant. The weight of the budget is best spent on the Pre AMP and Mics.
That being said, I am sure that newer Preamps in all ranges now have the correct output for PC and are in themselves a pc audio interface , but PreAmp is the Key word rather than audio interface.
I wouldn't want to suggest a preamp model/make, as my experience with different ones is limited. I like focusrite
Choices of which DAw/Operating system is debating the make of nails, which Preamp/mic is debating the make of the hammer!
