NEW AGE / LISTING/ Will this fit ???

Post by jay10music » Sat Aug 30, 2008 11:27 am

http://www.taximusic.com/download/16396 ... mental.mp3 GUY'S....Will this fit for this listing....I f so can make it longer.. This is part of a vocal song that I have been working on for my daughter......Just felt the instro part would be nice somewhere..jay,,,,, RELAXING AND MELODIC NEW AGE INSTRUMENTALS are wanted once again by an Austrian Production Company with Major Distribution, for a comp CD that will be marketed and distributed to European Wellness Hotels. This company is looking for very relaxing pieces that still have interesting and compelling melodic elements. Simple structure and instrumentation is all that's needed here, but the melodies should stand on their own. Meditative music that is smooth and easy to digest by the listeners could really hit the mark here. This company is not interested in solo tracks (piano, acoustic guitar, etc.) but rather a meeting ground between a full arrangement and a solo - sparse and simple, yet forward moving with complimentary instrumentation. Great performances are needed as always and these songs must be broadcast quality. Their deal is a non-exclusive license along with mechanical royalties paid per unit sold. Please submit one to three songs online or per CD. All submissions will be screened on a YES/NO BASIS - NO CRITIQUES FROM TAXI - and must be received no later than September 10, 2008. Yep -- I think this fits in the New Age relaxation music category . . . If you did lengthen it, modulating to a b7 chord or elsewhere might be effective.Nice work!

runner--i like this, very nice production, however i'd like a "chorus" effect/mood if you got one someplace, as it seems to basically repeat itself. i was expecting a "kicker" or chorus to follow the first "verse" and it never came.very nice vibe though, but i think it needs a bit more work, my ears wanted more, and expected a bit of a lift...all the best, warren

hi RR, nice tune, i would definitely lengthen and submit, i thought it was lovely and soothing and appropriate for the listing. i think the spot you ended it is the perfect place to put in that "chorus" that warren was talking about, something strong and recognizable in the melody as the listing mentioned melodies that can stand on their own. a nice ABAB structure would be great i think. great work, loved the guitar!-juliet

John,Feels just a tad fast to me for the relaxing part of the listing. ( "smooth and easy to digest")As a guitarist, the "harmonics" at the end of the phrases work well, the harmonics during the arpeggiated phrases would not be as easy to pull off without interrupting the flow of the arpeggios. I think if you viewed the harmonics as a second guitar player and letting them sustain a little longer they would work better. ( kind of like an Acoustic Alchemy thing) You could actually write a counter line to the first guitar part with the harmonics that might be very effective. The only other suggestion is to experiment a little with the velocity on the guitar sound. If you decrease velocity it may make the guitar a little more "delicate" and slightly lighter. A "B " section in the relative major would add greatly to the piece.Good luck with the track.Chuck

ME FEELIN YA VIBE ROADSTER!!Like feel and it fits well with the listing I reckon you could make more of the pads in the background try lengthening the release times so they really float into each other and maybe even experiment with some plugins to make them stand out and sound less 'out of the box'?Just a couple of thoughts from the Stone Man!GREAT STUFF!

That is very pretty. Some new age is pretty far out. This strikes me as being excellent new age - pretty and flowing. The plucks and the background really kick it up. Very, very nice. Tom
