good lookin out brandon and i used to trust me-i used to use everything from bird calls to synthesizers playing backwards but artists would always say that i was losing them and it sounded too left field-so instead of trying to create a new genre, i sat back and started to study producers like 9th, Alchemist, Danjahandz, Timbo then i went backwards and picked up Jodeci (Devante Swang), DJ Toomp and many others. what i found was that those of them that are still getting credits on albums are also students of emotion(does this music move me or the listener without the words) as opposed to a carbon copy of what's hot. i love the feeling of hip-hop with the story telling of rap so now i'm able to hear "the music" vs "the beat"-sounds crazy and drawn out but i guess i'd say my sound is expanding and maturing at the same time. prime example-i've been bumpin BIG BROTHER by Kanye and the story over DJ Toomps beat paints that elusive picture i couldn't see before. while Souldja Boy and a few others have commercial appeal - i see them in the moment but i always ask myself is this a classic or a trendsetter...you be the judgebe safe and be ezblunt
