New Country Rocker--thanx B FLAT!
below on my website is a brand spankin' new country rocker--AUSTIN DOVEyeah i know, what's the point? LOL...but this one i really believe is a quality tune, and my first crack at a rockin country piece.words of thanks to our B Flat AKA Keith for doing exactly what i wanted with this, and doing it all! he was great to work with.one other comment: we know it really should be sung by a COUNTRY GUY, but the song is there, and i'll be shopping "someday" for the right guy to sing this, but Keith did a great job "representing."ok, rip the hell outta me...oh, i haven't posted the lyrics, but you should be able to hear them...i'll post 'em if someone needs to "see" them...the best, oh, my site may be down on the first (tomorrow)...but don't give up, i REALLY would like your comments.warren

Nice job Warren and Keith! Keith's production and performance is outstanding as always! This one has a really cool rockin' vibe-- a lot of fun.The only thing I might have done differently is have an instrumental break somewhere. I felt like this type of track was screaming for one. But the song rocks!Good luck with it, Warren!PS I highly recommend Keith (B. Flat) for productions. He's a forward and deal maker! Casey

Re: New Country Rocker--thanx B FLAT!
I like Matt's lyric tweak suggestions-- easy ones to implement if you have it re-sung. Sometimes a word like "damn" can be the difference for placement or not, especially in film/TV.The subject of whether to have an instrumental break in a song, in general, is interesting (regardless of whether it's right for this song!). Conventional wisdom is for artist song pitches, not to have an instrumental break. But I do wonder if it's a short one, later in the song whereby the listener is either hooked or not, if it matters that much. What if it makes the track sound work better? Maybe some of the experienced Nashville writers could comment on that. I like this track-- like it a lot! My gut tells me it's not an artist pitch song because of style, structure, etc. I see it as more film/TV. Good luck with it, Warren! Casey

Warren, I can only describe this as "The Beach Boys Meet Rocky Horror Picture Show," but damn I love it! You know I've always digged your quirky lyrics....that's what makes your music so distinct and good. And like everyone else said, kudos to Keith for his great production....real good job guys!

Warren, GREAT CHORUS!I like it- not sure it is country... maybe "alternative country?" It's too cool for country In the chorus, the pause before the last phrase loses energy for me. It's as if I want the chorus to finish with "I've gotta hear I'm still the one, my Austin Dove."My wife listened over my shoulder and could not figure out what the singer was saying. Sounds like "Halston (something)," she said. Thanks for sharing this great tune!Derek
