New 'Demo' - Would love some input

Post by rockmann » Wed Nov 15, 2006 4:43 am

Hi folks,We've got a new song (actually two) in 'demo mode' that I would love to get some early feedback on (before we pass the point of no return). Mix isn't final and there's lots of tweaking to do, but it's close enough for critique, I believe. This one is called, "Eyes of Tomorrow" and is in the Rock genre. It's a futuristic look at a society where choice is absent from the culture...Thanks in advance for taking the time to listen and hopefully comment!!http://www.soundclick.com/util/streamm3 ... q=hiLyrics:(never professed to being a lyrisist, but I guess they're good enough for rock & roll)We're watching all that happensAnd just how it long it takesWe align every twisted pieceAll for our own sakesYour happiness relies on usThe future, now and pastWe'll keep your lives in unisonThen decide how long you last[Chorus]Tell us what your minds wantAnd well give you what you need'Cause we know all that's best for youNo need to beg or pleadTell us what your minds wantAnd well give you what you need'Cause we know all that's best for youNow hush and follow our leadAll the masses kept in the darkOf that which we do for themIt must all be kept a secretOr else they would condemnThis society's not here by chanceHow could that have beenYou think this all from random starsBut it's the product of our sins[Bridge]So your lives could be betterBut you can't see what's aheadNor can you hear the voice...(Listen while I tell you what you need)[Chorus]Tell us what your minds wantAnd well give you what you need'Cause we know all that's best for youNo need to beg or pleadTell us what your minds wantAnd well give you what you need'Cause we know all that's best for youNow hush and follow our lead[Solo][Chorus]Tell us what your minds wantAnd well give you what you need'Cause we know all that's best for youNo need to beg or pleadTell us what your minds wantAnd well give you what you need'Cause we know all that's best for youTime to accept the new creed

hi,I will just write something to the music. my spontaneous feedback:* timing in the intro is shaky (acoustic guitars!!)* I would suggest to make the intro half long as it is* timing in the rock-part is better but still shaky on some parts. That let miss it the groove.* the singer sounds a little 80s to me, which can be good or not good depending on the request you send the song. technically he seems to be good.hope that helps;)cheers,Martin

Yeah, I agree the timing in the intro is off. Both the solo part and the bass part there need to be tightened up a bit. I'll double check timing issues in the main sections... I never really noticed any problems there before, but I double check. The song definitely has that 80's vibe, yes. It's not really our intention, but more how it just turned out. It's not for any request specifically, but it will certainly go in our 80's bin and should work perfectly for that next 80's based movie. Again, thanks for taking the time to listen AND comment!
