NEW guitar EDIT-Subhuman (Metallica Inspired)

Post by k o star » Wed Mar 25, 2009 3:45 pm

From the past feedback I gathered, Thank U everyone, I added 2 more layers of guitar. The old guitar is kept very softly in the background panned hard left...I can't tell if this version is better now... so, need help?-KelThis one's heavily influenced by Metallica's "and Justice for All" album......still wanna make improvements to this track..Subhuman:http://www.taximusic.com/song.php?song_ ... eam=true-K

The "guitar"... if you can work on getting a good, wide razor-shredded guitar sound, that would awesome. That's the only thing (to my ears) that doesn't quite rise to the level of everything else. Think too about panning... the drums are nice and wide but the rest of most everything seems like its coming from dead center. A little tweaking on the panning knobs to break things out and separate some of the sounds... that would be good too.Otherwise... an "Extreme Sports Galore" track.

K.. yeah man nice! I love how all your tracks just hit you... you really have a grasp on getting the right sounds and your mixes just have impact to them.

Harvester of Sorrow is still one of my favorite Metallica tunes. That was a kick ass album. Bad engineering but great album. It's funny, its hard to hear that influence in this tune. But by the second time around I started to get it. Drums mainly, and then some of the guitar riffs started to fall into place. What I LOVE about this is that its inspired by, but sounds nothing like. Sounds like Kel, and I like that! Well done my man. I second Dave, brighten the guitar and make it soar a bit more. Then send it back out so I can add it my collection.B

PS. Trent Reznor's old studio has been for sale here in New Orleans since the storm. It's where he recorded all this early NIN and Manson albums. He ditched us for LA a few years back and its been rotting on the market ever since. It's an old funeral home that sits right across the street from a bar with a laundry mat in it that serves free red beans and rice on Monday. Got to love New Orleans. B
