New Here. Just sent in 1st Submission...What do Ya'll Think
This was for the listing that said...
A Lot of MINIMALISTIC INDIE FOLK INSTRUMENTAL CUES are needed by a successful International Music Licensing Company with global distribution through a huge music conglomerate!
They’re looking for Instrumental Cues in the general ballpark of (but not limited to) these references:
“Should Have Known Better” by Sufjan Stevens
“Cinder and Smoke” by Iron & Wine
“First Day Of My Life” by Bright Eyes
Although the references have vocals, this request is for Instrumental Cues only!
Send them sparse, acoustic-based Instrumental Cues teeming with Indie Folk charm. Craft your Cues around a singular motif and mood, and create dynamics and forward momentum by layering instruments in and out as they progress. Your production should be generally competitive with the references and other artists in the Indie Folk world – more lo-fi production approaches could work well for this pitch. If you're planning on using Virtual Instruments or samples, we'd suggest adding some real, organic instruments to the mix to help your Cues sound more authentic. Also, any virtual instruments or samples that you do use shouldn't sound stiff, obviously quantized, or MIDI-Driven.
TAXI Tip: We think incorporating some light percussion like shakers, cajón, tambourine, handclaps, etc. could be a nice touch! Just don't get carried away – remember, they're looking for stuff that's minimalistic and simple!

I like it. It's the sort of stuff I would do! No recommendation.
I would look at the bottom D on the bass. [I don't think it's my room]. A dynamic EQ to stop it jumping out more than the other bass notes.
Very organic and cruisy.

Thanks for the feedback and the listen! I'll look into a dynamic EQ for those notes.

Thanks for giving it a listen!crashgates wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 10:35 pmHi Brian
Unfortunately folk has never been my thing, but I really can't hear all that much difference between your track and listings so I can only suspect your quite on target. I was going to say the listing sounded a tad more subdued to yours but then the bright eyes track make me question that thought.
