New Listing but Same Library?? How to avoid duplicates?

Post by realdoyle » Wed Dec 18, 2013 2:28 pm

I'm running into a situation where every once in a while I'll get a forward on a listing and I'll find out that the company who ran the listing is one that I'm already signed with. For instance, there is a listing asking for outdoors/nature type instrumentals (#Y131210IN) and I already work directly with a music library (who I signed with from a previous Taxi listing - Thanks Taxi!) asking for a very similar material. How do I know that this company isn't running a Taxi listing looking for more of the same thing?

I understanding that Taxi doesn't want to make public who the clients are but is there a way to protect Taxi Members from submitting to listings for companies we already work with? It's a waste of our time and money plus it wastes the time of the music supervisor if my music gets forwarded to them through Taxi and they already have it from me directly. It could make Taxi look like they are recycling the same old material back to them instead of giving them the fresh music they are needing.

I emailed this question to Taxi but I wanted to see if anyone has experience with this and/or can offer possible solutions. Thanks!

I have been advised in the past to call TAXI.

ask them "is this library A, cause I am signed with them already".

If you mention a specific name word is they will give you a yes / no.

if you just call to go fishing and ask "can you tell me who the library is", well you can guess the answer on that one.

Good advice, Andy. That works for the listings where you can spot the similarities.

I had the same thing happen to me. Unfortunately I didn't recognize the library from the listing when I first submitted. I only found out after my song was forwarded. I'll double check with Taxi in the future. :?
