Re: Mo' stuff
Bill,This was never my favorite Beatles song, but your version is good ... interesting. I'm with Patrick, more in the chorus might help, but it's darn good as is.Dean

Re: Mo' stuff
Ok, I couldn't think of anything to put in the chorus and while I was jammin' around I played the guitar part to Day Tripper and though it was kind of cool so I stuck it in there. This is either really cool or really stupid, I like it so that probably means it's stupid! i also "beefed up" the mix some too . . . What do you think, does it work for you?http://www.billgaunce.com/song/112

Re: NEW MIX
I love the Beatles. This is a very cool version. I could hear some really dirty harmonica solo in it. Love it though!!!!

Re: NEW MIX
hey Billg... This version is cool too but I actually prefer the one before... hmmm... I'm thinking if instead of lead guitars, what abt adding more backing vocal harmonies in the Chorus (you know the kind that holds on to a note for abt one bar?) to phatten up the mix a bit... just a suggestion...-Kel

Re: NEW MIX
i really dig this one, not that the other needed much, but with the added backing guitar it just fill's up the track with more interest. i can hear the harp back there to my right, and would PERSONALLY like to hear it even more, but can't really bitch, the all the tracks are balanced very well to my ears.-- and since i've always dug the day tripper riff, this twist on two great tunes is clevor as hell.works VERY well for me, thank you (as he tips his giant's hat after an opening day win...)wh

Re: NEW MIX
Bill,This is a cool mix and very clever use of the riff. Not sure if this is for a library and whether you've gotten feedback on it or not, but one consideration will be that the publisher might feel that they will have to buy 2 mechanical licenses for this one song--one for Paperback Writer and another for Day Tripper (since you "borrowed" a signature line from it).V>

Re: NEW MIX
Hey Vince, I didn't think of that, thanks! I recorded this for the classic rock Taxi listing but I also have a licensing co. I work with that signs the covers that I've recorded. I haven't sent this one to them yet so I think I'll ask a few questions before I do. I can always revert back to the old version I had without the riff. Thanks again-

Re: NEW MIX
Hey Bill, your vocals sound great! Aint it amazing that after 45 years the Beatles songs are still as good as they get?

Re: NEW MIX
The guitars added exactly what this track needs. I'd bump up the harp and stick a fork in it, it's done. Although you might even bump the vocals, or add just a tiny, tiny touch of reverb or delay to match the reverb of the rest...or maybe a little slapback instead? The guitars really tie together the concept.
