New Project - New hardware
So I went out over the weekend and dropped 6k on some new equipment. I'm searching for a better sound and it only costs money.I picked up a new Dell quad core, 24" Wide Screen Monitor, M-Audio ProjectMix control surface, Yamaha HS80M and HS10M, Neumann TLM 103 and Sonar 7 Studio.I now have five generations of complete multitrack rigs here at the house. I'm taking the KRK Rockit 8's from rig 4 and using them for normal audio out for the new Dell.I am happy to soon be leaving mouse fading in the past and that annoying audio glitch at 47 past the hour every hour. Rig 4 RIP.What are your current rigs?

Re: New Project - New hardware
Currently running XP on a Gateway, using Sonar 5.0, Cubase LE, ACID 5.0, Reason 4.0, a host of plug-ins. I also integrate my Korg 01W & Triton Rack in the mix, along with my Mackie 1604VLZ, Alesis HD24, & TASCAM 2488 . I'm using AKG's (C2000B & C1000B) for any external micing along with a brand new Shure SM57.Soon as all the planets align for me (which will be shortly, I'm hopin' ) I'll be droppin' about 9K on some new stuff. I'll be pickin' up Sonar 7 as well, ACID Pro 6 & the Celemony Melodyne Pitch & Time Shift software. I'll be gettin' a new computer specifically built for music, another external CD recorder (Alesis MasterLink), a Muse Receptor, MOTU 8 pre Firewire audio interface, a True Systems P-Solo Mic Preamp, and a bunch of other miscellaneous items. So I'm really lookin' ta' step up and hang with the BIG dawgs, like yourself! Re: New Project - New hardware
wow...thats some serious "sheeet". I looking to stay mobile. Im going to go with a 17 inch notebook with 4 gig ram, and firewire port. Band in the Box to get the basic down then Pro Tools lite and Melodyne to mix and finish it off. I think I can get the whole thing for around $1,500. However I might go with the top of the line Melodyne....which would add another $300....och.
