New Rock Song--any comments?
hi folks, this is my newest demo, just got it final mixed today---geeze what a pain in the ass it was at that, i approved every track they did from my very rough tracks, i sung the song to them with the harmony, and even picked a singer that has a slight brit accent for all those that say i'm BRITISH!! LOL....this is an older tune that was very very nice and well, boring, and it now is nice and i hope not so boring...billg, let me know if you like the bassline when it zooms in at the chorus...was thinking of you. any complaints, my fault...this was produced and played/sung by studiopros....hell maybe for a car commercial??Let's Drivehttp://www.taximusic.com/download/196078/Let_s ... e.mp3Let's DriveVerse 1Only so much sun todayJump on in let's drive awayYou know there's not much out there freeI stare into your eyesThey steal blue from the skyWithout your touch I'm lost, I'm lostChorusRoads we travel might be gravelDon't forget it's you and ISometimes our best plans unravelBut we still get byYeah let's take that driveLet's driveVerse 2Take a drive with meGotta feel this warm eveningRoll your window down and we'll fly, we'll flyNo fear let's feel the blissWe can sneak a real kissAnd I know you'll let me try--I'll tryChorus x2Outro VerseTake a drive with meGotta feel this warm eveningRoll your window down...

Hey Warren,It's not boring! It's got a good energy, nice momentum. A fairly simple straightforward lyric .. with a few Warrenism's thrown in. I really like the 'steal blue from the sky' line! I like the production and the performances .. the vox are good. Nice.Dean

Warren,Nice straight-ahead rocker--catchy, great energy, and upbeat. I recognize the studiopros drum sound, which is a very good one.I know this is finished, but I think you could have vamped on the "let's drive" several times each chorus. The earlier part of the chorus sounds like a pre-chorus to me, so the title line could use a bigger payoff. These comments don't diminish the song in any way. I still think it's catchy and really well done, and bet you'll get a placement with it. Car commercial, for sure! You could even record it with the title line, "Let's ride," and use it for motorcycles, bicycles, skateboards, etc. If you didn't spend the extra money to have them deliver all the individual tracks, that would probably be a good investment, as this one could be adapted for several purposes.Vince

warrenYou have been busy:)Great tune. I agree with the rest about the pep this has.Nobody has mentioned it yet, but I hear distinct 60's.This is my kinda tune/guitar. The sound to me is original. I don't hear ANY influence here! This might be your best. The Mrs has the flu and sleeping so I had the speakers way down. Will listen again tomorrow.paul

Re: New Rock Song--any comments?
thank you all, --vince--yes indeed, i struggled with how to present this chorus, because the orig tune was kinda tattoed on me slow as hell and too "pretty"....and i still think it can be sung better, and with a few more bits of flair--and you have read my mind, i told them when i did my final "exceptance" of the tune's mix, "DO NOT LOSE THIS!" because i am going to spend the 45 bucks to get all the tracks, but wanted to hear some opinions here...so thank you much!--paul--believe it or not (well, believe it...i don't have allot of time for BS...) in my original post to the tune, i had "and feaker, this guitar is for YOU...", but didnt want all the burdens that go with that if nobody liked it....so pablo, yes, when i sketeched it for them on the PIANO but of course it had no guts, and they gave it back to me as a mini break of about 4 measures, i said "damn it world class musician guitar player, i want an INTRO, i want not only a break, but a real solo, told them where, and hell, i think i made him either mad or better (both) and it came back just right for a simple tune...so you had more to do with this than you think...and i'm honest again, i never write in any style that i'm aware of, i just do what i do...sometimes good, sometimes do do do do....LOL...thanks for the listen buddy..--hi brinda"bell"....LOL...where the hell's that nursery rhyme BTW? well, my expanded chops just flexed a bit, i HAVE done rockers before, one is even pretty good...but it was time--THANK you for the comments...--and blaster, i'm so badly in need of a forward and don't we all need placements, that i really REALLY hope you're right...thank you very much....all the best, warren

Re: New Rock Song--any comments?
hey Warren, hope you had a great holiday! The idea for use in an advertisement is best for this I think. The production sounds good but doesn't have a lot of character which can be a good thing for advertisements . . . just like when they try to hire voice-over talent with "neutral" accents. This does sound s little dated to me for a modern song pitch, I don't think it sounds 60's as Paul stated, especially the production which seems a bit more 80s to me.If I were you I'd do a bit of editing (:30 and :60) and offer it up to a few of the biggest regional car dealerships near you (although this may not be the best time economically!). I have done this sort of thing with car dealers, regional restaurants, a local contractor, even a theme show for local tv! I've had better that 50-50 results and the money can be pretty decent. The nice part is that these places are happy to gain use on a non-exclusive basis as long as you put in writing that you won't use it for a competitor in the same market. So if you have any luck you can pitch it to car dealers in other markets as well.
