New TAXI member intro
Hey everyone! I recently joined after an invite from a friend in the Mastering.com community @BradleyHagen.
I've been recording and performing as a gun-for-hire guitarist, vocalist, bassist, arranger, composer, music director, etc for over 20 years helping other artists musically. Back in 2018, decided to create my own artist “brand." Here’s my spotify artist playlist: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7mw45 ... smvgt_1ITw Genre-wise I’m kind of all over the place, though my main lane is alternative rock. My latest release is a bass driven, new wave tinged alt rock song called "Drive." Before that was a featured vocals, guitar, and bass for a trip-hop cover of Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game.” Before that I released an original pop punk song called “Calling You Out.” Before that, an electro progressive alt metal track in an odd time signature called “These Dreary Days.” There was also a jazz fusion cover of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas is You” around the holidays last year. Like I said, genres all over the place.
I have also had some modest success in sync after having landed placements with Toyota and Uber. Before joining, I have also had a few collaborations with Bradley for Taxi briefs forwarded to libraries/music sups. In light of these successes, I've been building out my sync catalog with more instrumental numbers and after working with Bradley on tracks and seeing how useful Taxi briefs are to spurring inspiration, I decided to join! If you wanna hear more of my sync work, disco link here https://s.disco.ac/ukmlacjumkxv
I live in inland Los Angeles in a town called Fontana, always down and would love to collaborate with anyone, either remotely or locally. Some random stuff about me: By day I’m a data scientist with a utility company, blessed to work from home 3 days a week which really allows me bandwidth to pursue artist things after work thanks to no commute those days. I became a data scientist back in 2017 after graduating with a PhD in physics which is a random fun fact about me. I am also a worship leader that plays at a few different churches in my area.
Looking forward to working and growing with all of you!

Re: New TAXI member intro
HI Matt!
Welcome! Back in the day, I lived in Rancho Cucamonga, so I know right where Fontana is. Used to have a couple of friends over there.
Your wonderful introduction has shown me that I don't think I've ever done a proper introduction of myself on the forum.
Briefly, I'm Mark Antony Chubb, and I am originally from Rome Georgia. College in Atlanta, then grad school at University of Iowa, both in music composition. After grad school, started remixing with Acid Pro and through a new defunct site called Acidplanet got the attention of some record labels. Between the remixes was writing instrumental cues and some of them posted on myspace got the attention of library owners. That's been over 20 years ago now, and have been producing ever since.
Recent-ish placements from the royalty statement include CBS Sunday News, NFL Today, American Greed, and House of Villains.
Genre-wise, while i have a love of most music as I can understand it, most of the stuff I write sits around old school Hip-Hop, Lo-fi, ambient, and orchestral.
Besides all that, I've taught music at university for about 15 years. Fun fact: I now live in Chicago, but i still teach at Cal Poly Pomona remotely. Fun fact too: At the height of my remixing days, got to meet and hang with Lenny Kravitz one evening and still have a flying V Gibson with his autograph on it.
Who's next?
Cheers!

As a Lurker here, I was gonna write the 'any friend of Bradley...' line;mattmendoza wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 10:03 aman invite from a friend in the Mastering.com community @BradleyHagen.
but Casey beat me to the punch.
Speaking of punch - the rest of my 'friend' joke was gonna be...
'WelcomeMatt - any friend of Bradley... is probably also a friend of the bartender."

NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG with that...
been there done that... etc. etc. etc.
"Cheers!"
