New To The Forum

Post by ThomasMansur » Sun Apr 07, 2013 6:54 pm

So I would just like to introduce myself to everybody. My name is Thomas and I have been a Taxi member for about 3 years but haven't been too active until 2013. I am taking the year to write and submit to listings as much as possible. I have gotten 2 forwards but no deals yet. I know it can take a while to hear back, if at all, and its been a rollercoaster but over all a great learning experience. Some days are very productive and positive and other days I wonder if Im just wasting my time. I really want to do this, and hope to just keep getting better and not go broke in the process. Any advice for somebody putting it all on the line? Thanks in advance. :D

well... I would say don't be shy about using peer-to-peer for feedback. I have gotten some good information after posting works in progress. And take a few minutes to listen to the forwards when people post and compare them to the listings. Try to see the common elements between the listing and the songs that were forwarded.

Be as objective as you can about your music and try not to let returns and rejections get you down for too long, don't take them too personally. And, remember that a song that's returned for one listing might be a perfect fit for another.

Good luck!
