New York Songwriter's Contest
Hey people, this place seemed like a great place to introduce myself and information regarding the circle!my name is nicholas deutsch and i'm interning with the new york songwriter's circle for my summer stay in New york!www.myspace.com/thenewyorksongwritersci ... eutschHere is an amazing contest we are holding for anyone interestedThe New York Songwriters Circle is Proud to announce the 2007 Songwriting Contest. The purpose of the Songwriters Circle contest is akin to what the Circle has always represented: Offering recognition and support to the best unsigned songwriters as well as bringing together people who love to perform great original songs in front of a supportive audience. The contest will support and value an artist's unique presentation as much as their songs. 12 finalist will be chosen and advance to the final round, where each invited finalist will perform his song in front of a live audience and a panel of acclaimed judges. Of these, five songs will be selected. These five songs will be performed again in front of a live audience at the contest's finale show where the top 3 songs will be awarded with Cash and Prizes. Our last year's contest was an amazing success thanks to the thousands of writers who have submitted songs. Our first prize winner, Kate Voegele signed a recording contract with myspace records shortly after winning the contest and her debut album, "Don't Look Away" has just been released. Our second prize winners, Jupiter One were signed to Cordless/Warner Brothers shortly after the contest and their debut single, "Downtown" (which was the song they submitted to the contest) was recently released and is already generating buzz and airplay all over North America. This year we are looking for the next great, undiscovered songwriters. We are accepting submissions in any musical style and are looking forward to hearing YOUR music! Submission starts on July 1st, 2007 and will run through September30th, 2007. We accept submissions online and also via regular mail. Check out our list of top music industry proffesionals who will act as judges and help us select this years winners. Our list of prizes is constantly growing, thanks to our generous sponsors and supporters
