Newbie Intro

Hello All,


After years of being told I should do something with the songs I have written, I have decided the time was right and have taken the plunge.
My writing style is a direct reflection of my influences, which are from the Singer/Songwriter & Americana gender. I have been told my lyric style is like Kris Kristofferson & I sound a little like John Prine when I sing. Not a bad combination...lol

I am proficient at writing lyrics & story telling- playing acoustic guitar & bass guitar. I look forward to any opportunity's to collaborate with others or add a bass line on a track if need.
I had to make a choice of joining TAXI or buying a multi-track recorder so I figured I would buy the recorder first so when I join I have something to contribute and start pitching. I bought a Tascam 8 track and it should be here by Monday. I am just wrapping up a some lyrics to a song idea so I will get back to work on it and finish them. If any one would like to read them, I will post them.

Wow, thanks for the warm welcome! I finished these new lyrics, be gentile, I know they need some tweaking.
I started writing this song after I saw two fresh roadside memorials (flowers & cross's )on a back road in rural Tn outside Nashville, where I have a small cabin (I call it my writing cabin but my wife says it's for vacation...no working...lol). I went into town and picked up the paper and read about the accident. Inspired and creative juices flowing, I made up characters of what I thought could have happened.
Do I post them here or on Peer 2 Peer, don't want to start off on the wrong foot.

Peer to peer would probably be the best place to post lyrics but there is a section called lyric lovers so maybe there as well. Peer to peer is generally for critiquing purposes. eo.

Welcome Johnny! I don't know if anyone will be gentle or not. Being gentle doesn't really work in this business! But you'll find that out! Around here, we grow thick skins and just write more n more! You'll get it!
