Understood fellas.
I'm following up on a couple attorney referrals.
Thanks again.

Re: Non-Exclusve???
a brief follow up to this tango:
about a week ago I emailed the publisher about getting the kind of contract a music library would use (which is the context of use that the publisher expressed) rather than a real publishing contract which I received from them. I'm not sure I'm going to get a response as they were relatively fast with previous queries.
it's a good thing I love making music, banging my head against the wall like this would be meaningless otherwise.

Re: Non-Exclusve???
This sounds like a single song contract..which is exclusive.... with the reference to 35yrs...
I ahve signed plenty of them (nothing ever happened with any of them) and I have signed a number of non-exclusive library contracts that specify clearly that the song is NON-exclusive and I'm free to plug it.
I recently signed with a major A-list exclusive library and the wording in their contract made it clear that they were exclusive, and for the next several years they controlled the songs and it detailed what I could and could not do with the music while it was inder contract to them.
