Hey Casey,

All I could scrounge up - since I didn't submit them was this one...
CONTEMPORARY, SWEET, and EMOTIONAL SINGER/SONGWRITER SONGS in the stylistic wheelhouse of A Fine Frenzy, Greg Laswell, Andrew Belle, are needed by the owner of an excellent Boutique Music Library. QUOTING THE SOURCE: "I need a song that has a really powerful hook and chorus, and at the same time is lyrically super universal, so I know I can pitch it for a bunch of different scenarios." Songs with a sweet and sincere vocal performance will really help you stand out for this pitch. Lyric themes can focus on love, life, relationships, overcoming hardships, etc., as long as they're universal. All tempos are welcome. Male and female vocals are both okay. This company has recently signed some TAXI member songs we've forwarded to them, so let's keep being awesome! This company offers an Exclusive deal. Please make sure the songs you submit are NOT already signed to any other publishers, and are NOT in any other catalogs. Broadcast quality is needed (great sounding home recordings are fine). You must own or control 100% of your master and composition rights. Please submit one to three songs online or on CD, include lyrics. All submissions will be screened and critiqued by TAXI and must be received no later than Friday, October 11, 2013. TAXI #S131011SS

COMMENT: The tune is strong, melodically, but the lyrical theme could be fresher at times. For instance, there are a lot of lines that end on the word "you." How about breaking things up in your chorus by ending one or more of your "you" lines with something else? This would create a less repetitive feel for your listener.
Thanks again Casey. :)

Cheers,
Scott

Hey Scott
Well in this case, the screener didn't cite lack of lyric universal-ness as the reason for return. Personally, I thought the screener was being a bit too ultra picky here if the ONLY reason was the lyric concerns stated.

Best,
:D Casey
