Now for something completely different - Heartbreak Survivor

Post by LamarPecorino » Sat Jun 17, 2023 1:19 pm

Sabrina and I just finished working on this song and wanted to share it with our Taxi family. Although I've written a lot of Country material over the years, I believe that this is my first Western Swing song. Hope that you enjoy it. https://soundcloud.com/user-155785959/h ... al_sharing

Very well done, got my foot tapping right away. This is quality western country swing, I wish it would make a comeback. :)

One thing stuck out, therefore I have a question for the vocal song producers: The fiddle solo at the beginning is panned hard right... should that be panned center when it is the main feature? I think that would make more sense, then pan it when it is a complementary instrument versus a solo feature. Thoughts?

Thanks for listening and writing, Paulie! You are absolutely correct about the panning. I will correct it.

Outside of your San Antonio neighbor George Strait, no one has charted a Western Swing song in a good long while. Hopefully some younger cat will hear "Right Or Wrong" or "Ace In The Hole" and want to cut something new along those lines.
