Hi All,I am "Recently Know As Tim", or just Tim. I have been reading this forum for months and just getting around to joining. This is one of the better that I have found for feedback. Getting back into music after years away from it and been doing a lot of writing and recording lately. I know I shouldn't probably post to ask for a review on my first post, but don't know if I qualify to comment on others at this point.So I am posting this song for some feedback. Hi Tim and welcome!Very nice song with a good message, sentiment and clearly a grounded story. Inviting melodies as well - especially the verse. And the bridge too.Whilst you have a very nice, gritty vocal tone with great character, the major thing I would say that keeps it from being "radio" or broadcast quality is the audible autotune/pitch correction on your voice.It's obviously not dripping with it though, and you clearly can hit the right notes without it, but if it is used more than judiciously it detracts from the quality of the music.I would recommend doing multiple takes and comping the best sections (even words) from each to reduce your reliance on it. Failing that, maybe reduce the attack/adjustment time on the autotune so that it doesn't make the voice move so unnaturally (especially on intended glisses).That way, you'll have something that not only sounds better and more professional, but more importantly you'll be happier with it, allowing you to feel better about bumping up the volume and giving your voice more of a presence in the mix as recommended by others.Great first post though, and I don't agree at all with your lack of qualification to comment on other peoples' work - in fact now you actually have to Besttt

Tim,Good piano sound--sets a good tone for the song. Vocal needs to come up in the mix. Other sounds fit fine.Lyrically, you have a great message and it meshes well with the music. Most "experts" would say you need more repetition of your title. Reading the title, you can't tell what the song's theme will be, so give that some thought.Hope you hang around and comment/post more.Vince
